Playing DDR wut?

I used to kick ass at DDR.

A friend of mine was talking about being good at it recently and I told him I'd show him how it was done.

But apparently I didn't retain the skills over time and I ended up looking like a complete jackass.

DDR takes a bit of practice, and it doesn't help if you're insecure about looking like a complete tool when you're learning it.

You look like a tool no matter how good you are. It's weird, though, because if someone who is good at DDR is considered very nerdy/no time on hands, but someone who is really good at guitar hero isn't like that at all. I don't play either, btw.

I can play both fairly well (9 step songs on DDR, pretty good expert in GH) and I don't play them all that much, and people say i have no time on my hands, but honestly, I'll play DDR maybe once at theatre before a movie if my other friend who can play is there, and I just occasionally turn on GH and play a song or two a day

Does 15 minutes of free time now equate to having no life?

Yeah I can do all the Legend Road songs no problem, and after i play it alot of people ask me how often i play, or how long i have been playing, i just play whenever i have the chance to play.

That's the only reason I still play. I'll drop 3-4 dollars a week in a machine nearby just to mix up my cardio routine.

tbh the plastic pad that comes with the box set is great for beginners, just put a board under it or something if you're on carpet. Even though I have a cobalt flux now, the plastic one was great before it. It's just more likely prone to failure in the long run.

I play ITG more than DDR because DDR is too easy for me, save PSMO. I've seen adam styles play at East Lansing at a tournament i went to because i live in West Michigan, and he is indeed good, but i know a lot of players around the same skill as him. I'm probably top 4 in my area, but it's hard to judge because we have an R1 cab and not an R2, but me and my friend hacked it to add custom songs. Best song i can do is probably 88.98% on Heaven but i haven't played in a few months lol
