    Odd laptop issue

This is a really recent problem that happened this afternoon.

Whenever i unplug my laptop from the wall, my fps drops dramatically - about half. This happened after, as usual, I left my laptop on for the night running ffxi. I unplugged my laptop, carried it into the living room, and plugged it in. I noticed i was getting shit for fps, so I tried reinstalling graphics card drivers, which didnt solve it. I then realized the plug wasn't plugged all the way into the back of the laptop, so i pushed it all the way in and then everything works fine >.>

Plugged in: my usual 25+ fps
    Unplugged: 11ish fps

Battery issue? I have no idea

Probably has something to with your power settings. Some laptops have different profiles for when the laptop is on AC and when it's on battery. If the profile is designed to get the maximum length out of your battery, it will cut back on system resources in order to save power. See if you can change it to full performance or something similar and see if that helps.

    ATI Card :

Go to Control Center, go to "Powerplay" and uncheck "Enable Powerplay". (that drops fps and such to conserve battery life when it's not plugged in an outlet).

Nvidia card? I dunno, you're on your own!

nVidia Control Planel -> Mobile -> Change PowerMizer Settings -> Click "Not manage my power consumption"

What annoys me is that the drivers I updated my MacBook Pro recently ignore that setting completely, need to plug the damn thing in to play Gears of War. -.-
