I think he was referring to the way the caucus operates where any supporters for a candidate that doesn't get 15% of the vote are given a second round to switch to a different candidate. I don't see the harm in his effectively endorsing another candidate for the (some would say inevitable) case that he didn't make it past that first round in the caucus.

I'm not big on politics (same shit, different sandwich) but Obama is one hell of a speaker, I like the guy.

If nothing else I'd be less embarrassed than I am watching Bush mangle words.

Yeah I am pretty sure Obama isnt going to be make up words on a whim and talk about OBGYNs being able to practice their love with women across the nation.

i used to like Ron Paul until i found out he's a creationist. i am not sure why everyone's so obsessive with a man who either is unwilling or doesn't have the intellectual capacity to understand and accept evolution. what a disappointment, guess my vote goes to obama.

Ron Paul is a creationist and the most overtly racist "serious" candidate in recent memory. His popularity among my demographic embarrasses the hell out of me.

Really though, it is rare for a presidential speaker to really move me with one of his speeches, and Obama really has that whole inspire the shit out of you, to the point you want to stand up, pump your fist in the air and say 'AMERICA! FUCK YEAH!' thing going on.

If Obama wins a few more states and Hillary keeps slipping the Dem battle is going to get very ugly very quick. The Clinton's aren't the type to slow back away, they (Clinton's) have been working at this pseudo dynasty for a while now. Hillary will start pulling out all the stops trying to tear Obama apart, which will in turn alienate herself from the public, and put a pretty big rift in the Democratic party.

Should be an interesting few weeks to see what happens.

I think huckabee might be the most unelectable the repubs have put up in a while (use your brains here, GWB wasnt unelectable) - a no-name, evangelical Christian who is very voiceful about it.. It would be interesting if he won it - would only show how large the religious right has gotten in this country.
To even factor this is a race/sex issue is dumb at this point. For as many people voting against obama purely because he is black, there are as many - if not more - people voting for him purely on that fact. Same goes for lolhilary.

Politics is getting really interesting; I know I'm excited :D
Huckabee will only ever have a chance of getting elected if Hillary happens to pull out the nomination, and even then it's slim. The sensible people in this country (i.e. the non-evangelical dipshits who realized after the '04 election that they fucked up by keeping this all-hat-no-cattle moron in the White House) have seen enough bullshit coming out of Bushcorp to put another one into office.

Besides, the big business types wouldn't line up behind Huckabee.

I have a question for you. If you hate Bush for reasons other than the Iraq war and the Patriot Act, what are they? Aside from those two things he's the same as any democrat out there, which the majority of people on this board seem to be.

    Non-comprehensive list
Withdrawing US from the Kyoto Accords (his reasons are valid but i was looking for a little leadership here)
Crony-ism to loyal supporters and the resulting scandals
Illegal wire-tapping/attempting to expand powers of the presidency
    Lack of follow-through in Afghanistan
    Weak response to Katrina
Insufficient aid to Tsunami victims (initially $15 mil lol)
Being an embarrassing face of the United States (international perception)

there are others but thats off the top of my head

Hardly Swamp, Bush put the U.S. at the largest deficit in the history of the country.
When Clinton left office the country had a surplus of somewhere in the ballpark of 125 billion.

oh yeah, those tax cuts really were a bad idea imo...

Cut taxes and drastically increase spending is just asking for trouble. I thought republicans were supposed to be the financially conservative ones

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/menu/i ... guest.html Regardless of the site, that spreadsheet is from the IRS. And they aren't Bush's tax cuts, only congress has the power to levy taxes.

Why does it matter if people hate us? The crazy Islamists will hate us no matter what.

We cut more emissions than countries who did sign the Kyoto accords so why does it matter if we sign it? And the countries who don't meet the emissions requirements will be paying fines. Where do you think that money comes from? TAXES!

Tsunami aid? Why is it our responsibility to help them out? And I'm pretty sure we contributed more money than most other governments, and our Navy was pretty quick to respond. I didn't see any governments give us aid after Katrina.

Weak response to Katrina? How about the dumbass local government that didn't follow the evacuation plans they had set up? How about the governor not requesting the national guards help until AFTER Katrina had obliterated New Orleans. (President can't send in the troops without the governors permission, I think.)

Republicans are supposed to be the financially conservative ones but Bush ain't no conservative. He loves spending money just like the Democrats.

I'm not in support of Bush, it just seems like he catches a lot of BS for stuff that isn't true, Patriot act and Iraq war aside.

    incoming stupid derail

Less talk about bush, more talk about primaries. If you people hate bush so much you should be happy to finally not have to talk about him anymore

Yeah, You are pretty on about Bush taking too much heat for Katrina.
The local Louisiana government failed horribly and everyone tried to pin the problem on the federal government, which was definitely not the case at all. Our government does spend way too much money on aiding foreign countries which is partially to blame for our constantly increasing deficit.
