I don't like the whole future guns/technology in my FF's, I'm hoping FF13 changes that.

And I don't have 7 and 8, hell 8 was my first FF i've played and beaten and I enjoyed it a great deal (and still play it once in a while when i'm on the road, <3 custom firmwares on the psp). FF7 wasn't that big a deal for me when I played and beat it.. sure it's got a pretty good story and awesome characters, but I'm not obsessed with it like some people (but I understand the way they feel, especially if they came from the 2D SNES era of FF's, jumping to 3D must've been a huge thing for them, I just didn't get it because I didn't go back to those titles until after I had beaten FFX.)

"why KH2 was fun to play"? can you really say that like you have some kind of authority on how to find fun in a game? i think we find these things out on our own. i WANTED to have fun in KH2, but it turned out awful. perhaps the systems from KH1 and KH2 were similar, but i remember having much more fun in KH1 than KH2. its partly because KH1 was much more refined and KH2 didn't add anything challenging to the gameplay, and the story, like we can agree, is pretty fucking stupid. it literally was just a triangle mashing fest. The amount of involvement is the same in both games. Do you even know why KH2 was fun to play? Or was my statement about you earlier right?
okKH2 has one of the better battle systems out of any game i've ever played. If you think it was repetitive or drivel then you have no clue wtf you're talking about, especially if you think it's because of the Disney characters involved, then you're REALLY ignorant because you probably haven't even beaten the game to know it's not about Disney at all.
shut up now
Nice argument. Go back to playing FFXI.Originally Posted by jiang

I find that most people that hated FF8 were too stupid to figure out the Junction system and ended up using Summons for all their damage throughout the entire game. Yeah and the FF7 fanboys all hated it too.people that say ff8 sucks are generally ff7 fans that were pissed Cloud didn't make an encore appearance.
Wtf are you smoking, KH2 had way more strategy and varied battle methods than KH1.what was wrong with KH2 was that it wasn't challenging or fun. the gameplay didnt require any strategy unlike its predecessor and it didn't have nearly as much involvement.
KH1 had the revolutionary jamming of the square key to do a Dodge Roll which pretty much made you immune to any physical damage whatsoever. Any battle that didn't have you flying was a fucking joke because of that move. At least in KH2 you had to do more than Dodge Roll and mash the X button afterward. The only remotely challenging fight in KH1 was the Phantom and even that was easy once you figured out how long the Stop spell would last.but kh2 was ahead of its time with its introduction of the revolutionary jamming of the triangle key to defeat the "nobodies" (what the shit?) by doing a special attack (cool concept, fucking terrible execution) with no repercussions for doing it off sync
Honestly your whole rant made absolutely no sense whatsoever.
That's backwards, KH2 refined every game play mechanic. The systems aren't just similar, 2 is a direct improvement over 1. I can't see how playing KH2 was so horrible, the times you smash triangle to do reaction commands aren't as often as you think. They were nessecary for beating bosses sure, but more often it was a cinematic display that really only looked really cool. Most enemies had little practical use for reaction commands as it was easier to just smash their faces in.Originally Posted by jiang
If you were to give KH:FM+ a chance you'd see why I saw the battle system is top-notch. KH2 is not a bad game by any standard but like everything some like it and some hate it. You aren't going to convince me that KH2 is a bad game, cause it isn't. Your reasons for hating this game seem...weak, apart from the story.
I hope you realize how ironic this is considering your first post towards me (even if that post wasn't directed at me).Originally Posted by jiang
I honestly can't wait for FF13. I hope they get the story right though. FF12's story was too short (amazing otherwise imo) FFX and FFX-2 had cheap characters and the story was weak because of it, I didn't like FFX's battle system but FFX-2's was awesome. FF7+9 I loved, FF8 was ok but I lost interest at the last castle and didn't beat it for like 2 years, lol. Might've been because I got some women and lost my free time though...
If FF13 can be as compelling and fun as FF12 and be long enough for a similar story, I'll be very happy. Battle system seems to be a fair bit different though, I'm interested in what it'll be like because I think they're really going to be trying some new innovating ways to do the fights.

Either you played the game enough to possess an informed opinion about the real differences in gameplay/difficulty/storytelling between KH1 and KH2, or you didn't fight any of the bosses and quit because you were frustrated that it didn't immediately gratify you within the first 10 minutes of the game. I'm guessing it's the latter case, and you're just fagging up the thread looking for a fight, "BRP."Originally Posted by jiang also
I've played every game in the series except for FF1 and X-2, the junction system in 8 wasn't hard to figure out, it was just stupid. I didn't like spending time stealing spells only to have to steal then again once I ran out, defeats the whole purpose of "learning" a spell.
I wasn't a fan of the story, the junction, the whole modern feel they put into the game, just nothing about it made me get excited. I disliked the game so much that I didn't even beat it, I quit about halfway through upon seeing that it wasn't getting better...so yeah.
I think it took me a year before I bothered to finish 8, and I had no clue what the fuck was going on by the time I did because I forgot the storyline by then.
I played 8 since 6 was cool as hell, 7 was neat... 8...
Well...man I fucking hated Squall, he was such a whiny emo bitchboy I kept hoping he'd be killed off and we'd get a new main character, and that+the card game is all that kept me playing.
"Waahh, life is hard and this girl doesn't seem to like me."
'Of course she doesn't like you, you've got better hair than she does, and you're a fucking waste of pixels.'
I loved Triple Triad, it carried 8 for me.
7 had the arcade and chocobo racing. 10 had Blitzball (which I played more than the game itself).
8 had the card game. I sucked at the card game. :<
lol...same hereOriginally Posted by Kiro
I could beat everyone but the card queen, who my evil bitch of a sister was like an idiot savant at taking out.
It was amazing seeing her and the queen duke it out, the entire board flipping back and forth, and then... suddenly, it's over, and I won.
10, I played once, was amazed to find out that not only was Tidus not a girl, that the game was as much of a lie as Portal's cake, AND FUCK THOSE GODDAMN FINAL WEAPON QUESTS! *blarghrant*
8's card game was really awesome, I liked getting new cards and figuring out the best way to use them all together.
