Well...man I fucking hated Squall, he was such a whiny emo bitchboy I kept hoping he'd be killed off and we'd get a new main character, and that+the card game is all that kept me playing.

Cloud had his best friend gunned down in his face. Squall...had a rival that was mean to him? Cloud has a truly evil genetic code in his body. Squall...I dunno.

Granted, I don't remember everything about FF8, but Cloud did have some reason for being emo, he had so much shit thrown at him about his entire existance. I don't think too many people would handle things well if they were told all their childhood memories were faked and some weird scientist in front of you put them into your head, at least not if you thought he could have been correct.

Cloud comes out of his "loner" phase fairly quickly, Squall is pretty much stuck in it for the duration of the game, Cloud's excuse is that he is pretty fucked in the head, Squall's excuse is that he is an orphan. They're somewhat different.

FF7 is my favorite but I like all the PS1 ones. Only FFs I really just cannot play are 2, 4, 6, and X-2. I think the worst main character is Tidus pretty much up until Zanarkand though. Personally I enjoy KH's gameplay but the story does overwhelm me with its cheesiness at times. KH2 is way cheesier on the storyline but also way more fun, IMO. I could play a standalone game just based off KH2's Gummi Ship game. I have at least S+ and 90% complete on every route XD

I don't really have an issue with the futuristic stuff (FF7), but what gets me is when they start coming up with these gay design concepts. I mean come on... Shiva, a fucking MOTORCYCLE? WTF is that shit.

If the gameplay builds on FF12 there's no doubt that it will be a solid game, but I hate the emo-ness that gets injected into the series at times. You can easily see this from the games with the best storylines: 4, 6, 9, and MQ. They're FF story at its best.

Cloud and Squall are very similar characters but all the hate goes to Squall?

If anything FF7 beat 8 sheerly on the villain and slightly better cast. Time Travel plots are very hit or miss....

I loved both games to death but FF7 is being beaten to death already.... SE should go make a live action movie for it so we can get some 'real' entertainment.

They might have some trouble condensing a 40 hour game down into a 3 hour movie >.> even if they do cut out all of the meaningless "SUP IM A BOSS" bosses and have no overlong summoning magic and etc.
