Historical Background
In Norse mythology, Valgrind is the main gate into Valhalla (also called Valhöll), Odin’s hall in Asgard, the abode of the Aesir (Norse pantheon). Valgrind is reputed for being hard to open. The Einherjar reside with Odin in Valhalla until Ragnarok. Very few know how the door is locked. Valgrind is Norse for "gate of the slain".

About the Linkshell
Valgrind is a Einherjar LS composed of mostly Nine Inch Ninja members. We are currently recruiting members for this new pearl. As a low number LS, Nine Inch Ninjas does not have the numbers to manage the higher tiers of Einherjar. As a result, we will be taking in a group of dedicated players along with us. The loot distribution will be fair, only 2 factors will be involved, attendance and use for the corresponding jobs. NiN members will be prioritized the same as guests. We will do 2 runs a week, every week.

We are currently looking for 10 members to join our Private Einherjar runs. We are looking for long term members, no weekend warriors.

Requirement to join:

• No Plds, Bsts, Nins, Smns, Thfs, Drks, Drgs or Pups.[/*:m:ercjs36v]
• You must have at least 1 other job at 75.[/*:m:ercjs36v]
• You must be able to enter Einherjar.[/*:m:ercjs36v]
• You must be on Every Thursday and Sunday, between 6:30 PST and 8:30 PST depending on day.[/*:m:ercjs36v]
• Access to Ventrilo, with a microphone is a huge plus.[/*:m:ercjs36v]
• Veteran players please.[/*:m:ercjs36v]

Everyone is welcome to apply. Valgrind members will all be treated the same. There will be no distinction between NiN members and guests. We will not go back to redo any feathers that we have already received until after we clear Odin. So if you miss 1 run, you'll miss a chance at Odin. So attendance is key. Ventrilo is big, we use it a lot for events like this, but we will consider players who don't have access to it. Items will be distributed based on use to the job and overall attendance. Attendance will be reset after every 2 attempts at Odin. Or every 20 runs. Everyone is welcome to apply, but we will only take jobs and players that will benefit the progression. This is a good event for people who can't play for hours everyday but still want to participate in end game events.

Yes, for the main LS. Atm, we are just recruiting for the Einherjar shell. We received a very solid response from the last post, and something like this shell might work well for a lot of people. But getting enough exposure to the select individuals is more the issue now. People who can't play everyday, but want to do end game content with a solid LS.

2) What's there to be shady about when we never really camp kings. I could care less if ppl botted in the past, we don't camp anything that you could bot. Einherjar, tons of salvage, sea, sky, ultima/omegas, ouryu/bv2, and other fun stuff.

3) Some of the better players I've met have had dramatic pasts. That doesn't means we take everyone in, regardless of their history. But I base it more on the trial and less on background check.

Don't talk shit about stuff you don't know; You can't base how the whole linkshell is off 1 person. NiN is a good shell with lots of skilled players.

He took what he wanted from you, and then left, exactly what the background check stated he would do. Great use of a background check when you don't even pay any attention what people had to say about him. I also say this because if they'd accept people like Ritaku, who knows who else might have gotten into their shell that has stolen stuff in the past.

I know im a bit late on this but truth be told enane you were always garbage, from when u got on bismark u were asstastic and look lil ole enane still tryin to cause drama and opps u still suck at life, gfg.

I'm sorry, but this is just false. Before you start throwing around baseless accusations, at least do your homework. During the time that he was in the shell, he really didn't get much from the shell at all. A few torques from indoor jailers, which are all rot. A few dynamis pieces for his pld, which are all rot. And a Demois Body, which we have 15 of in a shell of 22 people, and we last gave one to a trial member because no one else could hold one. I actually felt bad for Rit, because he came to a lot, he only got a few things, nothing major tho, and then once he went to collage he couldn't play much. We have a strict attendance requirement, so he was moved to the inactive list. At that point, he was gone for a solid few months until recently, when he came back he tried to come to enough events to get put back on the active roster. I told him that he was short a little based on his current activity, and even suggested going to another shell because he would have a better chance at getting gear as a result.

I really like Ritaku, I think he's a nice guy. I like to think we left on nice terms, and had he been capable of being more active, I would of preferred to of kept him in the shell. He still come on our vent, (almost daily) and annoys the hell out of us with that blasted voice changer he has, and we proceed to shout profanity at him (all in good fun). If I had felt he screwed us over, I wouldn't of given back his 17 khroma ore that he gave the LS to be made into the ingots for his body. But I was more then happy to do so, because there was no such feeling of resentment.

Now I have a question. Why are you trying to stir up drama where there isn't really any to stir? Do you have something against us? I've said this about the LS before. I don't invite anyone to the shell that I wouldn't always want to have in the shell. I've had trial members stay on trial for over a month before to make sure we wanted them in the shell. The only reason someone who's in the shell leaves the roster, is because they can't maintain enough activity to stay in the shell. There have only been a few exceptions to this, and they are very few and far between. Right now I'm very happy with the shell. We have very skilled, very active members that make events very fun. If we didn't have the majority of the LS on daily, we wouldn't be able to run 3 different, 6-7 man, salvages every day of the week. I currently avoid the Kings scene because I don't feel that botting should be a requirement to play any game. I migrate mules between server to buy/sell items for lower/higher prices because I would prefer SE got my 25$ any day off the week over some RMT group.

In the end, it comes down to this. People aren't perfect. Everyone makes mistakes, or a lapse in judgment from time to time. Sometimes they are otherwise nice people and really do deserve a chance to try again. Ritaku comes off as someone who is more influenced by peers. So as long as no one is motivating him to do anything obscene, hes just another nice guy. But you make an assumption about the person because of his history, and you overlook the person. While he was in the shell, he was a skilled, active member. I don't regret any decisions made in regards to Ritaku.

I've always been one to prefer earnest discourse to resolve issues. If you have some misconception about our LS, I would be more then happy to address it now, so it doesn't further propagate. Your original opinion that you stand by is, "NiN is a good shell with shady people.". Implying that some people in the shell aren't trustworthy. Or that some actions taken by people while in the shell are shady. The worst drama that I can think of in the shell is tame, at best. I welcome you to please clarify your position, because from my perspective, we are a relatively drama free shell.

This really frustrates me. You know nothing about the process or criteria used for the recruiting process, yet you make an antithetical assumption about that statement. Before members even get a chance, we have a LS wide dialog regarding anyone who's joining the shell. I only let players into the shell that I think will mesh well with everyone else. We are a lot like a dysfunctional family, and everyone in the shell has a say in who the new members will be. I find that letting people into the shell that create drama only ends up hurting the shell in the long run. Nothing hurts the shell more then in-fighting amongst members. That's why I would never invite someone just because they are active, or just because they are skilled, or just because they have good gear. They have to be able to feel like a member in the shell, not just someone who's here to help from time to time.

The reason I don't give as much creedence to the background checks is, anyone who's been in an HNM shell for more then a year, most likely has some baggage. The more respected the person, the more resented the opposition. It's different for Ritaku, because he made a clear mistake. But everyone in an HNM shell has someone who dislikes them, and would probably speak ill of them given the chance. Regardless of how much the opinion lacks in merit. I've also seen, terrible players, people who are truly self centered and lie compulsively, get rave reviews on their background checks. So to accuse the LS of being some kind of refuge for misfit players is just silly. Our trial process is much more in depth then most LS's, most of the people who have trialled with us will tell you. I don't make the decision to recruit new players to the shell light heartedly. But I also don't believe everything I read at face value. I prefer to take everything into account and formulate my own opinion, not just further propagate others. Or make assumptions about someone because of events that transpired years ago.
