so, my account got hacked a month back and I sent in a votary form and requested a rollback and everything. The hacker pretty much transferred my account to bahamut and sent all my stuff to another person.

The problem is that I requested a rollback, I got the e-mail that it happened but for some reason my stuff was still missing. I was able to log on when they supposedly "locked down" the account and check if everything was still there and from the time when they did that to now, nothings changed. Its like the only thing they did was transfer my account back to quetzy.

I called the pol info center and talked to a GM and they said they can't do anything about it. Does anyone have a similar problem?

I called them and they said it's still TBA and in the process of investigating. I have a feeling they're just being lazy and trying to take my money.

It could be because they have a big backlog and don't want to rollback someone who's cheating. I've heard several reports of people who had a "friend" hack them and transfer away all their loot, then get themselves rolled back, basically duping all their items. SE is just trying to prevent as much of this as possible.

Also note, you get only 1 account compromised for each character and 1 rollback. So basically, do it once, you cannot do it again. So those who cried wolf...

This sounds familiar from when our ls leader was hacked couple of weeks ago.

With slight difference she had a second account from another member who quit and apparently POL when she called said the same name was on BOTH accounts... Which cant happen. Sure you can change the name on the Credit Card details but the name on the overal account shouldnt be able to be altered.

I thought about posting about it but disreguarded it since didnt see anyone else had come across this but someone has emerged so putting this out there.

when they made the new format for the pol membership area they fucked up and most accounts had their first and last names switched, you could try saying the name like that instead

has anyone had banned accounts restored? I called SE 2yrs ago about my account being hacked and then banned but there was nothing that could be done back then.

i dunno where to post this, but so far 2 ppl in our LS have had their accts compromised, and a couple of others had their CC info changed overnight. Not sure if this is a new wave of hackings or not. Be cautious ... seems like this only happens on the weekends when you can't get ahold of POL. Fail @ no weekend service ><

SE is giving me trouble with my account. I'm looking for advice from other who may have had this same situation happen.

I quit FFXI back in september of 06. I went to play wow and a good while and eventually came back only to see my information was changed. Unfortunately this was before the Unauthorized Access policy was in play so I just kept playing WoW and decided not to worry about it. In july of 08 i learned about players being able to restore access to their account via the Unauthorized Access policy. I called SE and they emailed me the notary form and i filled it out and sent it back in a week ago. Today I got an email saying my account was banned and that they have verified me as the original owner of the account but due to the date i provided when the account was compromised (i said sept 06 because that's when i quit and didn't know when i was compromised) they were unable to verify it was indeed accessed by a 3rd party. Is there anything i can do to get around this? Perhaps if they check the information when the account was banned they would see it doesn't match my original information?

Update:

I talked to SE today. They told me that because the date provided by me when the account was compromised was in 2006 they didn't have the logs to review. These 'logs' are IP logs. They trace your IP and compare it to the IP that was accessing the account at the time of the ban. Unfortunately this person was apparently on my account since early 07 and I had no idea (was playing WoW) Because the date I provided was before October 2007 the IP logs were deleted and there is no evidence of my last login IP to be traced back to me. So basically what it looks like is this person has been on the account since early 07 and got banned and his IP is the only IP logged to the account. In other words they think that this person is me because they can't pull up my IP whenever i was on the account due to it being before 10/07 Nowhere in any policy provided on POL website does it state that any account compromised before 10/07 will be unable to retrieve due to the IP logs being deleted for some unknown reason.

Any information on what i should do to argue this would be greatly appreciated. They have verified me as the original owner.

I think you may be screwed without the registration codes. Have seen posts from a couple of ppl saying they had all the other info but couldn't get their accs back because they didn't have the codes.

Hi my account got hacked back in April and because somehow the address wasnt correct they told me they will start an investigation which didnt end yet, in those 6 months they told me to wait for an e-mail which i did, and it came after like 2 months asking me to give them my ISP to check if i was really hacked and it should help me in the investigation and so i did, then they told me to wait for another e-mail, after like 4 months of waiting they finally sent me an e-mail asking me to send a "Fax" with a photo of my ID or passport to prove my name >_> and a photo of my registration codes page..
and few extra info, which i did.. and sent it more than 10 times yet everytime i try to contact them online or by phone they tell me if i have sent it i should wait for another e-mail which im doing atm, im just wondering if anyone ever got all these stuff going on with their accounts too :/ because somehow i think they r doing nothing to help they wont even tell me if they got the fax or not ..

Wow! I've heard of this EXACT case from a friend. I mean every single detail you gave he told me they had him do the same thing. In the end they didn't contact him and he just didn't care anymore. I suggest you hassle them everyday about it.

edit: then again my friend's account was sold multiple times so it's most likely yours was too and you weren't actually 'hacked' However! i also know many people who have sold their account and had it restored via account restoration process.

lol no my account never been sold i made the account myself, and been playing since 2003 and last april i was kickout while playing, the next thing i know was password is wrong and there is like 7 mules next to my character spamming trade (i know this because my friends were following my account)
