    This policy has been around for quite a while. The catch with this on a stolen account, however, is that if they dropped a bunch of rare/ex stuff, I was told by a GM when my account got hacked that I needed to have a zone and an approximate timeframe (as in within a day) this happened in. When they finally decide how they're doing things, I doubt they'll actually need that info, but just as a heads up for what I heard from another GM.

    I think SE is blowing smoke up peoples ass. I got that email and i log on to another account that i have on the ifirt server and behold there is my character still in whitegate and he turn himself invisible. After sending him /tells he wont respond to be but he told me he bought my account fair and square.

    So in my opinion i think SE just sent out that email so we would stop calling the help center.

    This is what happened to me, get the account locked, then negotiate with the guy somehow.

    Edit: To get the account unlocked you will need all the old info + the current info.

    My acc was hacked today all my shit was gone from Hades+1 to cerbmantle everything WHM gear everthing they even delelted my mules and dropped my r-pumps...im from Titan so i just delelted my acc till i get this worked out...gl to all that this bs has happened to

    I did that, the GM was even talking to me while I was standing next to my main account talking to the RMT who was controling it. The GM basically said they can't do anything while the account is being investigated. I asked to speak to a sGM however after 3 hours of waiting I had to leave to go see Cloverfield

    Yeah, I wish I was kidding, but I'm not

    My friend and I got one when we tried to get ours restored. Mind you, the lines were packed though, so it may just be a result of the time delay. I can't exactly find the paper on which I wrote mine at the moment or else I'd call. But I'm interested to see if the GMs/support team have any extra information for us that they didn't post online.

    in other news. SE is charging people for the world transfer service that got hacked and sent to another server and is unable to restore any items that rmt chucked away because it would be too much work for em to read the logs.

    Just talked to Richard from POL support, he was waaay more helpful than the previous csr, he submitted the freeze/compromise account request and said that SE is finalizing their policy on compromised accounts. He said he couldn't say for sure if we'd be getting our accounts back as is, or rolled back, however he said most likely we will get it back as it was before it was compromised.

    I heard the same thing from a person in SE when i called for my account, however he said its a "big possibly" to having a rollback for those compromised accounts.

    It's rather humorous how SE fields both extremely helpful support teams and extremely dimwitted buffoons in the same circuit. I really wish you could 'Rate your GM/support personnel'. Some of those punks are more of a hassle than they are a help and don't deserve to be wasting people's time and effort.

    Thanks for the good news! Hopefully it becomes a full rollback.

    It would be nice to have an official word on what the fuck SE is doing.. but that would be asking too much and involve a guarantee, which we all know is something SE is not capable of.

    sorry about the late response but for my lsmate stuck on asura until march it seems to be an unfortunate fact.
    He was told that his various ex items the rmt chucked out (event items, mannequins,and an unknown quantity of other misc things) could not be restored as the amount of logs they would have to read was way too much for them to look through.

    I would think that it wouldn't be that hard for them to just give SE a list of the rare/ex items they want back, and they could easily search the log for those specific item and confirm "Yup, he had it."

    But, then again, this is SE. A simple thing like that would also make Crawlers grow to 10x their original size for no apparent reason.

    Warning about unauthorized access

    As has been mentioned in previous Special Task Force reports, problems regarding third party access to players' account information have become more and more common. Even if ones account is compromised only once, all of that player's characters could be deleted and all gil and items lost.
    Viewing suspicious web sites linked on gaming websites or blogs, as well as downloading files from these sites, is believed to be the main cause of this unauthorized access. A player's computer becomes infected with a Trojan horse or keylogger and before he realizes it, his PlayOnline ID and password have been stolen.
    We are currently working on a method to restore edited account details and lost items, but there are a few preventative measures to help protect ones account. The following are a few such countermeasures that Windows users can use to protect against unauthorized access.
