    Re: Treasure Hunter in Salvage

Skeletons are hardly the problem in Arrapago and stats are pretty lol anyway. Getting Weapons and Ability cells quickly are much more important to in order to get off that floor fast enough to do a full clear.

it is 100% true about killing 15 qutrubs increasing drops on skeles... like i said go test it yourself if you don't believe

for the reverse, never tested since skeles are further to get to first, and you would usually have enough after killing off 15 Qs
I am not sure how you can say 100%, did you even tested it? Log and all, and not just "personal experience from memory of a few runs" and such.

    On the other hand...

Skeletons drop a ton more than Qutrub do. Usually enough to get all 6-8~ people belts and HP on the first floor.

And I don't see anywhere that it has been test and proven. Please do point me to where I missed the testing, I wouldn't mind having an easier run in Arrapago, you see.

EDIT: I don't mean Aurik is the master of the univ... Vanadiel, but that post is the closest I can find that has mentioned qutrub and skeleton. And it is Arrapago Remnant related thread as well.
it's tested. and how you expect me to print a log? just count them, hello... 1, 2, 3, 4, ..., 15. go kill 14 and kill 2 skeles and kill 15 and kill 2 and perhaps you can see the difference yourself. don't need me to explain it to you. oh, and don't tell me 2 skeles does not provide enough statistical evidence. can't be bothered to kill 14 and go off killing all skeletons in one run to show you the drop rate compared to when 15 are killed. got 5 qiqirns and 2 chariots to kill you know

edit: 5 qiqirns because we dont do 3F

Tests come with supportive evidence in the form of screenshots and/or parses. You have some eyeballed opinions.

I killed Shikigami weapon the other day. YYRobe droped. Drop is 100%, you see. Don't tell me one kill doesn't provide enough statistical evidence.

This information you provide is weakly fundamented, even if it is right. Credibility is based on the proof you can provide about it and just saying you've done it a couple times and a couple skeletons seem to comply to the pattern means nothing.

    Re: Treasure Hunter in Salvage

I'm a chemical engineer and I know statistics pretty well, so I am in no way saying this is proof of what the above poster stated.

Myself and my two co-leaders have had all our gear from arrap for a long time now and we really prefer not doing runs there, however I made a shell that is pretty large because of friends + it allows ppl to pick what zone they want most of the time. In other words, we have over 30 members lol (we do split runs of 5-9 ppl usually).

The last few weeks we wanted to show everyone how we lead arrap runs to increase the efficiency when one of us 3 aren't leading the run. To do this we went in groups of about 9-13 (omg what a headache lol). We had 3 mnks in each group so we were in pretty good shape for the first floor even with that many ppl. Normally arrap is 6 ppl and we only kill a few qutrub that are in the way of lamia pulls. However, with this many people we decided to kill a lot of qutrub and we did notice a lot of drops on skeles. When I say a lot I mean double drops on many, multiple stat cells, and maybe 1 that didn't drop anything. These drops made it easy to kill all nms + the mega even with that many people!

We're not planning any more runs of more than 6-8 ppl there anytime soon and so we definitely won't have enough data to prove anything (plus, because of our ignorance, we can't possibly determine the data would be a good random sample and that we actually have a handle on control variables etc.)

I don't really see the need for this, even if it is true, in skilled salvage shells since arrap shouldn't be more than 6-7 ppl but if anyone is curious they might want to check it out for themselves.

As someone who went 1/200+ on morri robe I know there are often several runs in a row where no cells drop and some that many cells drop. So I am very much aware that it was most likely nothing to do with the number of qutrub killed. I'm just stating that it may be possible to increase the % of cells dropping by this method.

I blame sake for any crappy spelling/logic

noticed the same, now even with 6 people we clear at least the first wing of Qutrub. Since we started doing this we saw 2 or 3 Squeles by run droping 4 cells. I don't think it increase drop rate of 35 pieces 1/250+ on morrigan body :D

Again Skeleton drops are hardly the problem in Arrapago, lol. It's those runs where you get no Ability or Magic cells from Lamia or when you take a few extra and those ability cells + incus cells that won't drop.

Agreed, skeletons are pretty much worthless, you need what 2, maybe 3 HP cells max on any arrapago run?

Unless you're bringing the entire U.S. Army in with you, skeletons shouldn't be but a 'let's kill some while xyz runs to porter'

We generally kill a shit ton of Qutrub just cause our people fcking aggro everything, rofl. I rarely see the Skeles dropping OMGTONS of cells. Guess I will have to start keeping track of how many we kill but I am pretty sure it's around 15+ but I can guaruntee last Reef was 15+ and we didn't get any cells off Skeles. We had too many Melee and just decided to pretty much clear Qutrub out, but I did not see this incredible increase in drops.

    All eyeballed, so all worthless.

    Re: Treasure Hunter in Salvage

Sometimes we clear all the NW qutrub wing (when weapons simply won't freaking drop), specialy when we used to do this run without a THF (yeah, we learnt the lesson after a couple times). After that we take the NE side and kill a couple of the first skeletons along with the lamia, then send people to the final room of the wing and kill one or two bhoots there for ring cells. Usualy the drop rate is decent on everything as long as we have a thf. When we don't, we just don't see drops. I don't remember any change whatsoever that i could atribute to killing qutrubs.

This said, i personaly notice a trend that's probably just my imagination, but cell drops on first floor seem to be higher when we have more people, as if it had a specialy strong effect just like TH seems to be special here. Not that this is important, since this zone is better done with less, but still... wether we take 10 people or 6, it almost feels like we get them geared in the same time in the first floor. =P Guess it's my imagination though.

well we always want at least 2 waist (2 bbs) and 2 hp and I have had many runs where we had to clear an entire skele wing to get those or get them 2nd-3rd floor . Sure, most runs this isn't the case I'm just saying that since it will happen somewhat often there may be a few groups who would like to do this if this is true. Since you kill a lot of qutrub let us know judai.

Also, kick whoever is constantly aggroing stuff or at least tell them to wait at start lol! I would say I don't know how your group aggros stuff there so often since there are long empty hallways, but you do have aurara in your pt and so i understand jk ^^.

Getting 3 hp cells is always a bad idea in arrapago. You know someone will get one shotted by thundaga on 2nd floor, or bomb on 3rd floor. Spending 5min to get everyone hp worth the time.

We do pretty much everything in salvage including full NM + citadel runs in SS easy with 6 people counting Aurara, it's not like salvage is serious business.

Aside from Zhaylom you can pretty much sit around jacking off for 30 minutes in every zone and still accomplish everything you could want.

+ that good for RDM convert, and for the 6th floor I prefer everyone with HP max. a raise is still much time lost than 10 squelet ^^
