On one hand it's fun collecting.. on the other, I have no idea how that is possible without a guide.

I was counting my skills last night, I have about 100 on Kaim and he still has about 10 or so skills to learn from the mortals.. I have no idea where the rest of the items are... I suppose I could run around the towns talk to every person doing every quest that comes along, but even then I might miss some retarded treasure in some random drop inside a cave and would be screwed out of it until I find a way.

Does the Auction House get every treasure chest you ignore? Or only the ones that are in places you can't go to anymore? (like the experimental staff, etc.)

Pretty sure just for the areas you can't get back to. One guy on xbox360achievements.org posted that after he bought all of the items from inaccessible areas, it actually closed. He eventually got the Treasure Trove achievement, after some serious searching.

Where is this auction house O.o.

It's in the last town in CD2/first town in CD3 (I forgot the name crap... but the house is in the port.) It's marked as a store (and it is one)... you go to the back of the store, however, and there's a door that opens up and the auction is there. You just talk to the guy at the front and he starts doing his thing.

Also, don't spend ridiculous amounts of money to win stuff, since they get recycled even if you lose them. I had an acc. going for over 5k once and I gave up on it, it came back like 3 auctions later and I got it for 1.2k. Also, the auctions stop once you don't have any more treasures to get, which i'm assuming means you have all the treasure chests from the areas you can't visit anymore.

Just a quick question for those that have beaten the game. I’m about to start disk 4, am I close to the end or do I still have a while to go?

There are two things you have to do story-wise (dungeons), and after that you have the final sequences (which are 2 dungeons all on their own.)

So basically you have 4 dungeons to go, and a shitload of side quests heh.

My suggestion, save before going to Grand Staff so you have a save point to use to go back and get everything you missed side-quest/secrets/secret bosses-wise. Then go get the story finished because the ending boss fights/sequences/cutscenes are fucking amazing.

So I just read/watched the first of the 1000 yrs of dreams (Hanna's Departure), and omg that was the saddest thing ever. Not gonna be ashamed it made me cry.

Are all the dreams this emotional? I had to go play some CoD4 to break that mood, shit was depressing.

Most of them are... some are even better than that one actually.

Also, there's a cutscene towards the end of cd1 that's far more emotional than the stories, at least it was for me. You'll know when you get there.

The ending is equally epic and moving (mostly because of the face expressions/tears/WTFAWESOME music that accompanies those scenes.)

Some aren't. Usually they just pertain to the moment that he remembers them with a little backside to his story. I stopped reading them all unless he remembers one at an interesting point of the game.

I've personally found all the dreams to be really powerful stories, to the point where I almost wish the game was taking place during them instead.

All of them have been pretty good but I can't really choose a favourite at the moment, I agree though that the event towards the end of disc 1 was more emotional than any of the dreams you unlock.

I only just got onto disc 4 myself, anyone able to suggest a good level to take on the final boss(es)? I still want to do all the sidequests and go 1000/1000 on GS but I'm really keen on finishing the story ASAP, I can't wait to see the ending.

What I did was, I went after all the achievement secret bosses (6), and by the time I was done I was level 67... I then went to the final dungeon and absolutely raped him. So I guess you could do that, or just go there now and try your luck. With the skills I acquired for the immortals though (i really hope you use all 4 immortals..) make or break that last battle.

If you just started CD4 though, wait until they mentioning going after grand staff... there are still 2 main dungeons to go through, and even after you chase the grand staff (and beat that dungeon) you can go back (even though the game tells you you can't do it, you can..) The final area is actually just there for a boss fight, no exploring.. so while grand staff is the final area, you can still explore afterwards. What I did was save right before, and then just kept going under a difference save and beat the game. Then I saved over that file for the new game + file, and loaded up the other save and continued exploring.

Getting 1k/1k will be very hard at under lv70, which is what I just hit a short while ago. The backyard missions (final ones) are extremely annoying, even with the perfect skills.

Just found that there's a free DLC on XBL JP that gives

Lost Odyssey "2 Bonus Items Pack"

Contents: 2 bonus items in the game - "The forgotten song" and "Expert's secret manual". The former is a key item to unlock a bonus Thousand Years of Dreams story, while the latter is an accessory that contains the Weapon Guard II skill.


It's the same thing some ppl got for pre-ordering, I tried it and it works
