Let's make sushi!

So I really like sushi (No I'm not a jp fanboy), so I decided to google out how to make it. it seems pretty simplistic and all, I was wondering if anyone has any tips and stuff on how to make it? Some places I found:

Where's the fun in that? If I go to the grocery market I get ok sushi, there are 1 or 2 places near me that sell really good sushi, but it's like, really pricey.

Sushi Bar is much more fun than attempting to make it at home. That way if you fuck up and get food poisoning and DIE, your family has someone to sue for money. Otherwise they'll just call you a retard who tried to be an Emeril.

I've kinda gotten used to identifying the "Upgrade to Pro" with Kiro.

As for sushi, it's not that hard, I suggest starting with simple stuff though, and not many fillings. As with all food topics that pop up on BG, there is a good eats episode on sushi, but I can't find it on youtube. Title is "Wake up little sushi" if you're curious.

Making good sushi yourself will cost just as much, especially if you're not going to do it as like a regular thing.

I wouldnt suggest trying to make it on your own. Its very complicated, expensive and finding fish that are fresh enough to put into sushi is rare (the stuff in supermarkets wont cut it).

AFAIK all you need is fresh (as in almost just-out-of-the-water) fish, and knowing where to make the slice. On the other hand, making a good rice to go with the sushi...

might want to read more on sushi then, because even if its really fresh, it is still flash frozen to kill parasites. especially when dealing with brackish or freshwater fish.

And they still put a warning in sushi restaurants about that, so if the man wants to make sushi, let him go at it.
