MND + Stoneskin Questions.

I'd never try to cast skin if I'm going to take a hit anyway, I prefer to recast when I'm away/w/e NM I am soloing is bound. Recasting skin when you are getting attacked is just asking to get killed lol.

It's not when you are getting attacked I am worried, it's double attacks and shit and the possibility of having Utsu down. Especially on Cactrot, he hits hard and can DBL attack a lot. Also, you can't bind that or VV. :/

EDIT: Also, I always felt Seveneyes was a waste of an inv spot. >_< So, I'll probably never have that or the AH one.

Unless I'm fucking retarded, I remember binding VV on BLM without ES >_>. It's definitely bindable.

Possibly, never had to bind it, and certainly wasn't about to run around. Get out of it's melee range anyway and it probably draws you in.

Err, you sure? Just did this tonight and was drawn in if got a bit away from it. 2 PPL and it switched hate and drew one of us in. Also, if we pulled it from West to the little 'safe spot' in the room from spiders it would Draw in. Had to go to middle of room, come around from east and position it so we wouldn't be getting spiders.

lol, we were trioing it with like 3 BLM.
We cleared the adds before we started to fight it and as long as we stayed in the room it didn't draw us in even when bound.

/shrugs No clue. We ended up getting screwed the first time. It was drawing us in left and right, and we nowhere near left that room. Ended up getting both spiders.

Second time, not a single draw in. Edit: Same as the first time we did this. Not a single draw-in.

The THF I was trioing Vivian with the other week died mid-fight, and to my surprise I managed to hold her for over five minutes as RDM/WHM whilst he Reraised, unweakened, zoned a couple of Spiders and ran back to fight. You can Bind and Gravity her easily, however she does randomly Draw In even if you're still in the room but out of melee range. Just run away and recast Stoneskin/Blink if either of them are damaged, I think I took down a good 5-10% of her life just keeping DoTs on and keeping my distance whilst the THF recovered. It wouldn't be possible to solo in this fashion, however, without someone outside taking spiders.

Good to know. I think the little 'safe ledge' away from the spiders also makes her Draw-in. Every time we'd go sit on that ledge with her at an odd angle, she'd draw-in. If we got her positioned from the SE however, we were fine. No spiders at all.

There quite is. I duo on the ledge and each time we get VV's position right we do not get drawn in and the spiders don't move there.

I am fairly certain either of us could solo if we practiced/had a bit better gear. I've watched a RDM solo a couple times now. The person I duoed with held til 80% with no Dusk items.

Yes, you can straight tank it in the one safe square foot of the room (you can melee it as well to speed things up, Enspell + Ceremonial Dagger or otherwise) but it's pretty damn hard I believe. I think a very low Utsusemi recast is required and a solid physical damage taken -% setup for when you don't have access to shadows (Darksteel +1 pieces, Goliard Trews, etc.).

What I meant was that it'd be impossible to use the Bind + DoT + run away method because of the Spiders.

I am at 286 Enhancing, with 63+20 MND. (=345 SS)

Setup as follows:

Terras/Bugard Strap+1
AF1+1 Head, ___ neck piece, Loq Earring, Magnetic Earring
AF2 Body, AF2 Hands, Aquax2
Prism Cape, Swift Belt, AF1+1 Legs, Dusk Feet

The obvious things I can't change are:

Hat, Body, Hands, Legs, Back, Loq.

You could have saved the thread by just buying an Enhancing Torque, 293 skill + 83 MND = capped SS.
