Stored Password Dissapeared

Ok this is something i have to ask but has anyone ever started up their Playonline on PC and found that their stored password has for some reason just dissapeared?

This just happened to me, I didnt reset, crash, or anything. I tried to log on and my password was gone, and I remembered seeing something about it on these forums, so I came to check because I was worried about a keylog or malicious software. Though then I saw this further down...

This happened to me recently. Someone replied to my post (turns out this was infact the case): The password is lost when you switch on and off between using and not using wireless. I'm not sure if this is the case for you though, but that seems to do it for me.

After logging off via /shutdown I did switch my PC from the USB wireless to the old ethernet cable connecting my PS2.

For me it happens most often when I disconnect my dialup connection while it's in the process of shutting down. So I had to get into the habbit of waiting the extra 5 sec for it to fully go away before disconnecting. Doesn't happen quite so often when I'm on a highspeed connection. Always figured it was some kind of bug but never anything major. Been happening to me off and on for 3 years now.

Nothing to be worried about, as was said simple things like changing between dynamic and static IP, wireless and wired, or changing your MAC address can make POL delete the stored passwords. As long as you checked to make sure you didn't have anything (which you did) just re-enter it and all is well.

that doesnt happen to me when i change from wired to wireless on my laptop (which is obviously two different network adapters)

Keyloggers capture changes to the system clipboard, don't bother with the copypasta. If you have a trojan and you enter your password in any fashion, you're fucked.

So double-check and then if nothing comes up just accept there's nothing you can do about it and go on with your life.

Could it detect cursor placement and highlighted text? Like if you type in "pasdgaword" and then highlighted "dga" and then typed "s," would the keylogger know you typed "password"?

that might work, but this ofc presupposes that they're not just jacking the contents of the field from memory which would be virtually impossible to defeat (though it may easily change every time there's a lolpolupdate.)

Question, this is somewhat regarding the topic..

I build a new PC, and put the old Hard Drive into the new PC... PW was forgotten, I didn't pay attention to it believing I remembered it -_-; but now that I try logging onto my friends acc, which is my mule, I can't >_> I don't know the pw or the codes for it. Friend is in the army and I can't contact him, he has my PLD and RDM gear which I somewhat use for events lol, is there anyway I can get the PW from the HD or am I S.o.L?
