Getting my eyebrow pierced when I was 18 was one of the most painful things I have ever experienced in my life, and I skateboarded hard for 10 years. Then I realized it looked fucking dumb and gay and I took that shit out and continue to regret it although it healed over. Still, it's embarassing to mention.

I have no piercings, got my left ear pierced when I was like 12 but it was gay so I took it out.

I have 2 tatoo's though, one i picked out in the shop when i was 16 and the other I designed myself and got when i was 20 I think.

Makes me laugh when people say that getting tatoo's is ridiculous because of when you get older. Honestly, do you really think that if you're 75 years old, can't walk around, are forgetting shit all over the place and quite possibly can't make it to the bathroom on time you're going to care if there's a little ink on your body? Who do you have to impress at that age.

I'm a flash art fan myself and I find it funny how many people say they have their own unique tats on them. I have friends that tat and I know that they see the same tats all the time no matter how different it looks. I think I only have 1 tat that I picked off a wall the others have been from pictures that I have seen and liked.

I don't have any piercings or tattoos. I wanted piercings when I was younger but I'm not all that interested in 'em, my girlfriend has enough for both of us. Tattoos on the other hand, I'm in love with. I've wanted one since forever but I've kind of "held back" on getting one until I came up with a tattoo design that's purely mine.

I have a few that I know I want already that aren't ideas of mine, but I still think they're awesome. One off the top of my head is the name of one of my favorite bands Opeth going down my forearm on the underside. I want it in the olde english style font or whatever it's called that they have on a cover of one of their albums. I want it vertical down my arm instead of horizontal though.

Basically this, just from top to bottom instead of left to right.

I think a good guideline with tattoos is this: NO WORDS. The -only- exception to this would be your child(ren)'s name(s), because:

-Bitches leave you
-Assholes dump you
-Your musical taste changes
-Whatever word you think typifies you will change. I was all about the word "penance" in my late teens, then "inertia" in my early twenties, had plans for tattoos of them, and thought better of it. Glad I didn't.

Even when I wanted a tattoo of the name I write music under, I designed a symbol instead that implied the same thing, without a bandname that may have become obsolete five years down the line.

Some poor bastard got his DJ name tattoo'd on his stomach when he was 22 -- he doesn't dj OR write music anymore. And the name sucked, to boot.

[editityedit] @ Kiro - I like the image you posted, but I'd drop the "peth" and use the elaborate "O" if you were set on having something band-related on you. You'd know what it meant.

Really? Have you talked to anyone seriously about that one? It seems like one of those that wouldn't heal properly because of the amount of movement that skin area has. I'm no expert though.

Again, @Kiro: There's all kinds of things you could do with that "O" to make it even more ridiculously sexy. Nab some calligraphy books, or books on illumination. Even as is, the detailing is enough to make it look like a circular design.
