They've had off beat characters in the past. I think I read Link from Legend of Zelda was in one iteration.

Be kind of cool to use Vader and Yoda, especially if they have force powers.

if my memory serves me right it was the first 3D fighter to use weapons. This gave it instant appeal.

You beat a fighter in 2 weeks and you're complaining? The replay value is in the multiplayer...what else did you expect?

Soul Edge is the second 3D fighter to feature characters that fight with weapons

Any idea what the first one was? At first I thought Bushido Blade, but apparently that was in '97

... Soul Edge was the Arcade/PS1 game that came before Soul Calibur (edit: the English version was renamed Soul Blade apparently).where Siegfried beats Cervantes, takes the Soul Edge and turns into Nightmare. Calibur just got a lot more famous.

its a pretty deep game. i'll second that you need better friends. The new one i'm sure will have online multiplayer so you can see for yourself then how good the series is with good competition.

To OP: thats pretty cool, I know I'll play Vader a lot even if he isn't very competitive (to squash my casual gaming friends)
If he is competitive, WATCH OUT
