so tell me whats wrong with this..
I'm Cervantes and my opponent is Kilik(surprise surprise). All he does is spam his long reach forward jabs, so I lose the 1st round. next three matches I win by spamming cervantes "teleport above them and slash down on them" move and shooting at him and I win cause all he does is spam the same move. then at the end of the match (the kid had a mic) called me a faggot lol.

Except for the fact that Astaroth's bullrush is fucking pro and I use it constantly, I make it a point to never beat a button masher with only 1 move just to prove that they have no skill and weren't beaten by someone mashing better then them.

Too bad SCIV has bred a whole new style of gameplay, a la lag-tactics.

Play through a Story with each character and try to clear as many floors of Tower as you can. The system keeps track of your collection as you accumulate gold, so you don't have to hit the 1 million mark, just an earned total. It's one of those achievements you can get just by playing for the sake of playing, which most of them are.

Ranked matchs will make you an assload of money really fast if you go on a winning streak.

If you're able to consistently get 400k+ points on arcade mode, that makes alot of money as well.

And yeah, lag can completely kill the throw game online, along with really fucking up alot of people's ability to block low. It's why Mits/Cass/Sophi/Lizardman are so strong

A good way to do this is to play level 60 of the "tower of souls" over and over, which will earn you 16000 gold each play through. A good method for this level is to make use of the "Algol ring-out glitch": retreat with your back against the edge of the ring. Let Algol knock you down. Once on the ground roll back and forth. Algol will attempt to jump attack you and instead jump over you and out of the ring giving you the win and 16000 gold.

They take additional damage from hit throws. So use people like Astaroth, Mits, Ivy, etc.

Also, those 2 floors are excellent for doing the achievement to break all your opponent's armor.

Usually what I do if I really hate fighting a character is learn how to play as that character. If you know the characters moves, what's effective and how it's countered, you can fight and guard against someone else playing as them even better. Maybe try that? You don't have to be a master, just know the basics of the character.

    6 B B B B B
    66 B
    6 A A B
    66 A A

You now know the same moves as 95% of the Kilik playerbase.

(I honestly don't know if those are the inputs, I don't like Kilik)

Most of his basic combo sets are easy to pull off:

    -FF, A, A (Mid-High to Low)

-A, A, B (Mid, Mid, Mid) adding on a K at the end for extra damage and juggling

-DD, A, A, A (Mid-High, Mid, Low) This is what I see a lot of spamming Kiliks use. It's the spinning combo

-F+A+B (All Mid) The forward poking repetition. Another cheap, spamming Kilik favorite

Kilik does have some disadvantages in 4 though. Aside from an easily recognizable basic combo set, he's a little slower than usual. At least, that's what I feel, coming from being a Kilik user.

No one seems to use his advanced combo sets at all. They're devastating. I've yet to see one person online use any of them. Here are some of them (like you'll need more than above):

    Asura Dance
-B+K, F+B, Half Circle Back to Forward + B (Mid, Mid, Mid) This one's amazing, it has a counter hit as its starter, high damage (for Kilik), and can ring out going forward.

    -7+B, FF, K, K, K, FF, B (All Mid)

You'll hardly ever see those two. I think all you really have to keep in mind when fighting a Kilik-style user is that most of his sets are Mid, so they're fairly easy to guard or impact against without lag. Hope that all helps a little.

Edit: Some other things to keep in mind:

Defensive Attack Throw: 7+A+B (Low) When you see a Kilik start to back up to the edge, be careful of this one as it'll ring you out.

I fucking love this combo, it's so good and it looks cool. Just takes practice to pull off the last input.

I've been trying to relearn Talim, cause she seemed to have gotten better from SCIII but I keep jumping out of the ring so it annoys me. I might just stick with Xianghua and Siegfried.
