Yeah, I had to switch my play style from using the D-Pad to the analog specifically for Asura Dance. I love it. A little tip for the last input that I found was to end the half circle a little above forward. It works every time.

Siegfried's a beast now. I have the most trouble fighting against a good Siegfried more than anyone.

Yeah, the only times I can use Asura Dance is when I switch to Analog quickly for the input. Siegfried is pretty unpredictable. Even though I main as him I can't really tell what he's going to do or what moves he will go into.

I main Siegfried, he can get pretty helpless when you get up on his face.

Try Astaroth ): Against a Sophi/Cass/Amy that knows what to do, he's pretty much worthless.

Siegfried seemed kind of weak initially, but his low/mid mixup is excellent if you can get the initial advantage.

The cheap character of choice right now seems to be Cervantes. He's very easy to sidestep, but especially on moves with bad recovery, people love to spam his various teleport moves.

Foward+B on Siegfried is a godsend, pretty much my main defense on keeping people away.

Cervantes players are hilarious if they aren't skilled enough. A lot of times I just sucker them into coming at me at the edges and 80% of the time they'll just RO themselves lol.

He's got quite a lot of quick moves that are worth learning for those situations. While he seems slow he really isn't, which is what most people expect.

Cervantes is annoying sometimes, but usually just cheap. I also find Mitsurugi infuriating sometimes.

I main Talim and Cervantes. and yeah lol, when I first started off with her I kept jumping out of the ring on accident.

Cervantes, which I dont teleport spam, unless I face some kilik spammer, though with them I like to use the charge up gun shot instead.
Cervantes is extremely easy to counter when it comes to people abusing his teleports, but maybe thats just me cause I use him alot. basically one or two steps to the side will get you completely out of harms way and leave him open.

This game is awesome, I like how they changed a few of the inputs from 3 to something a little less hard to pull off if you're trying to do it quickly (Sophitia/Cassandra's flying combo things come to mind in particular) and damn this game is awesome.

What combos have people used for descending the tower? Ascending was really no trouble but I'm having a bit of trouble past floors 15~ or so, haven't hit the 20 mark yet =/

also what do people do to farm gold relatively quickly? I used to just do floor 11 (single char, only one floor just do FB->B with yun-seong and then critical finish), then tried just lying on the ground near the edge on floor 60 and letting him jump off, but that doesn't seem to work anymore for whatever fucking reason (I can't even get on xbox live, so why his nullify-ring out is all of a sudden working I have no idea)

the cpu adapts to your play style. after so many times of him killing himself by you just doing nothing, it probably changed the strategy.

For any fights where you have enemies run in after killing the first person, a character with Obscenely high damage and a big unblockable can pretty much oneshot 90% of the people you'll fight.

I have Astaroth set to about 160% damage for just that purpose, and prep his unblockable to go off right as the next person runs in. If they aren't oneshotted, it usually takes no more then 1 or 2 hits tops to kill them.

For descending, I try to equip Shave Damage and HP Drain on my best characters; not necessarily following any specific combo. For the most part, only the cat characters give any trouble. You fight two of them at 25 >.>; that's where I lost.

Urg.. I played the X360 version at my friends today for about 4hrs.. yeah.. SC stopped being fun after 2.. 3 and 4 just seem so meh as fighters. Tekken is really the only one that stands out anymore. VF is ok though, and hopefully the new SF will be good. But SC just needs to stop.

Aside from the Soul Gauge stuff, what's different? The Soul Calibur series is practically unchanged since the first one gameplay wise.

Can't be bothered to read through the thread I just want to say how much I love this game, I loved 2 and it is probably still my favourite but I hated 3. Is it weird for me to say I prefer this to Brawl? :/

And? Soul Calibur 1 was effectively perfect. The combat system is still plenty deep.

I remember Tekken changing. it turned into Tekken 4. (though it was fixed up abit for 5)
I remember Mortal Kombat changing. after MK3.
just cause the gameplay changes doesnt mean its for the better.
I do hate the story mode though. Why bother even adding that?

first of all I thought this was in some sort of update (attained via an internet connection obviously)
second I didn't think it's skills would randomly change how they worked, nullify ring-out S always worked against my attacks, but he could jump off as he wanted, now it doesn't work =(
