Pssh thats assuming the other sword is normal also...I doubt most of the swords in Soul Calibur are of a normal origin. But yeah...no way they'll keep it that realistic.

Err well realism as far as the Star Wars world goes, aka true to the lore basically.

Yeah that's what I was wondering. They had a spartan soldier (halo) in DoA4 and in order to make it "fit into the lore" they said she was a long lost spartan instead of the real Master Chief.

How the hell are you supposed to explain the light saber things not even scratching their opponents in Soul Calibur? It looks kind of retarded an unnecessary imo. Seems like the characters were just a tacked on afterthought used to make a little cash off the star wars crowd.

    that's exactly what it is,

they're simply tacked on to lure more nerds to buy a copy of the game.

They likely don't care about any "factual" relevances between the two worlds.

Or, heaven forbid, they're star wars fans like every other geek in the world and thought it would be cool to have them in the game.

spamming the same moves is annoying, usually get that from ppl who play raphael in SC2 and the large characters.

SC2 = Talim, Cascandra and Xianghua (I probably spelt all of those wrong). God I love those three, Xianghua owns if you can use her right, Talim is just way to fast and Cascandra is just a funny person to play with (BUTTSMASH).

I play Link to warm up with, or on rings where I can easily perform a ring out, when I just want to piss off who I'm playing against. For fun and true skill, I play with Taki. For a real challenge, I'll play with Seung Mina.

I play with Cassandra most of the time (comparable to your Taki in terms of situational characters, anyway). Nothing beats the stomach stab/5-hit air combo or shield bash in the FACE. If I want some change-up I'll throw down with Yoshimitsu or Taki though.

Man, that throwing move of Link's was what made weapon-master mode a joke for me. <.<

Anyways, I use Asteroth exclusively at the arcade (thx a lot Conquest mode -.-), and Yoshimitsu on my GameCube whenever I want to piss my friends off.
(hopping around on a sword like a pogo-stick is win)

What exactly was so bad about SC3 exactly? Never got around to playing it, so I couldn't tell if it was just basically SC2.5, something worse, or neither.

Re: Soul Calibur IV meets Star Wars

AI in SC3 is RETARDED. Well, I say that but let me explain. On lower difficulties it wasn't so bad, the AI was basically retarded like I said. But move up a bit and they become button readers capable of blocking nearly everything you throw at them and countering effectively 90% of the time. Eventually you get good enough and used to it but it didn't make any single player venture as fun as it should have been.

They also nerfed and changed a lot of characters, so they don't feel as good, but that's a personal gripe...mainly cause they nerfed the shit out of Talim

Overall though it wasn't that bad. Single player things were pretty awful, but multiplayer was fun. Also, there is this weird RTS type mode that I found kinda fun, but it was broken in a lot of ways. Create a character was a good addition as well (although ninja is broke as fuck).
