I am loving this game so far. The majority of my time playing it yesterday was spent beating it with all default characters, then unlocking the Apprentice, and unlocking all of the bought characters. I hate Yoda btw, I think he is terrible. Maybe because I haven't actually gone down his movelist yet. Then my friend and I did some player matches checking out all the Critical Finishes, most of them are pretty damn sweet, a few are crap like Maxi's, and Tira's is like wtf >_>

Tonight I will aim to finish off Story mode with the remining 10 characters or so. Then I'll be hopping into Tower of Souls for a while to unlock a bunch of equipment, and make my characters that I want to do.

Also, a good way of getting the Achievements for stuff like 200 Guard Impacts, 20 Just Impacts, etc etc. are by playing your friend in an unranked match and just doing noting but that. It's actually helpful if you need help getting the timing down as well. Good practice.

Anyone know a good place to see the list of Honors for the Ps3 version? I'm not sure if they directly correlate to the Xbox achievements or if they are something completely different.

I don't even know how to check which ones I've unlocked. I just know I've had a few notifications pop up while playing that I've earned them.

Well, I'm not at home right now, so I can't get the actual menu choices, but on the 360 version you go to "Museum", the place where you can buy artwork/models/etc, then choose something like "Game Records" and it brings up a big list of the honors.

I'm kinda sad how hard Critical finishjes are to use.
I mean, its a good thing you cant pull them off every fight, and a good way to stop block happy people (tho grabs worked fine for this), Ive only gotten to do 2 so far that wasnt in practice or a friend holding down block, and both times they only had 1 or 2 hits left of life anyways.

I'm definitely giving the game a few weeks before I try online again, it's really bad right now.

Unrelated to online but, I'm kind of annoyed that the character edit options only work with the P2 costumes. It makes sense for some characters since they're P1 costumes are needlessly complex (Nightmare), but gdi, I want to have Xianghua wearing Hilde's armor.

Yeah 90% of the time I was getting server full messages, when I actually was able to get into a game the lag was really bad, and from watching matches I could see other people having the same problem.

I don't have my Tekken thumb calluses from college anymore. I haven't binge played a fighter in a long time. My thumbs aren't too happy with me.

I have the Ps3 version, and I must say the graphics are unimpressive. The characters are awesome looking, but the stage backgrounds and cutscenes... fucking terrible. There's one cutscene showing the tower that absolutely looks like PS1 graphics.

As far as gameplay, it seems like even more of a button masher than before. From my hour or so playing multiplayer, even knowing all of someone's moves wouldn't save you from simple attack spam. Coupled with the fact that you're penalized heavily for blocking (worst fatality system ever) and that just impacts are not only hard to time but either don't stun enough to launch a proper attack or knock the attacker prone... eh, dunno. I was just expecting a little more I guess. Not a terrible game though by any means. Just a bit simple.

7/10, It'll do until Tekken6, Kof12, SF4 come out I guess.

I really have to give Namco credit for the amount of options available in character customization. I never saw it coming this far along when I first played VF 4. It makes me really excited for what Tekken 6 is going to offer in home release.

Seriously, fuck the Apprentice. I basically have to play defend -> counter the entire time not to get chained to death with unblockable -> launch -> 6 hits every fight.

jesus christ the create a charachter feature is disturbing. Nothing like playing against a guy with a pink afro, a captains hat, a pink thong, and using the voldo fight style to really dampen your evening.
