They show up with the rest of the equipment listings in Character Creation. Buyables will have a price listed, equipment you already have won't show a price.

In my opinion, the game has its ups and downs. I played Soul Calibur back in college, here and there. I thought it was amazing, but at the time I couldn't afford a Dreamcast. Then when SCII came out, I already had a Cube, so I brought the Cube & SCII over to my friends' apartment, and that forged our friendships in steel. We played it pretty much non-stop, daily, nightly, hourly, and until our retenas were about to burst. Everyone had their own characters, their own play styles, and we talked some major shizz.

SCIII came out when I was living with my ex girlfriend. She never played it really, and I guess I was mostly interested in the campaign mode. But overall I'd say it was pretty disappointing. They had started by removing a lot of features I'd loved (Link O.o), and were trying to move in a direction which felt awkward and slow. Everything about the fights just seemed to take place in slow motion. And not the cool slow motion where you're just hyper cognitiant of everything that's going on. It just was like a fat man trying to swim through a lake of hot oil sludge. And you could smell the burning.

SCIV... well I got it for X-Box, of course. Premium Editioned that shit. And I can't say I'm overly disappointed. The Character Creator this time around really adds some interesting aspects which require strategy. The Tower of Souls is a great transition from the old Campaign mode. Each of the characters seem individualistic, and the fighting styles are fairly well rounded. But there's a lot I have to complain about. Some characters have a cheese move here and there, or are missing a certain move that I used to love. Taki, for instance, used to do this blade dance after possession, where she'd whirl her katanas out and around... I can't find it to save my life now. The Apprentice is the Ring Out King, no doubts. Just put your back to a ledge, and throw.

The gear I have unlocked so far (2 Achievement unlocks, and about 50% of 33 floors of the Tower) seems fairly meh. If each piece had skill points on it, that'd be great. But if you want something that looks good, fashionable, and powerful, you're probably out of luck. You'll most likely have to mish-mash random pieces to get the effect you're wanting.

Finally, Guard Impacts... what the frack. I spent an hour last night practicing them. I used to be great at them. My friend & I would do up to about 50 or so just back and forth. Now? I think I can pull off one every two or three fights.

Overall, I'd rate the game at about a 6.5. It'll be amusing for a time. Then the Force Unleashed will consume me. And Fallout 3 will captivate me. And Fable 2 will critically finish me.

I'll go thru 18 and 19 with almost a perfect, and on floor 20 i'll kill off Yoshimitsu fairly easily too... but the fucking Taki wanna be... all she does is gaurd impacts and makes sure you dont get a successful grab. all while somehow not allowing me to get her in soul crush mode when I have a blue soul bar.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Lizardman when it comes to cheapness. When he crouches down into that gay stance and starts spamming these strange moves that are really quick and endless it pisses me off. I fucking hate that lizard.

Ok, Astaroth is an absolute monster in this game. I didn't even bother brushing up on his changes since the previous games and blew straight thru Arcade without losing a single round. After spending time in Training now, jesus christ, he can easily take off half your life bar if make even a single mistep.
