Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom

Anyone else buying this? I played the demo last week and Just picked the retail game up today, been playing it for a few hours with my brother on live. It's a lot of fun. The game has a bunch of different items, rares, armor, accessories, random dungeons, etc. One of the cool aspects is the SP system (some people will hate it), it requires a bit of thinking instead of straight up button mashing... however fans of button mashers won't be too disappointed. The synthing system is complex too. I can't wait to see the plans for some downloadable content as well :0 Oh, and the graphics and music are OUTSTANDING.

It's a cross between Diablo and Dynasty Warriors. If you don't like action RPGs and are into traditional RPGs, it may not be your cup o' tea.

You can play co-op up to 4 players. The only problem I've had so far is with the camera on the first boss fight, other than that it plays like a great hack and slash rpg with random dungeons and items. The level cap is high as well, I think 150. I honestly cannot see why this game would get lower than a 7 from a critic, I haven't seen any bugs, the graphics are stunning, 6 different characters to choose from, great music/sound... and yeah, the voice acting is actually pretty good. You can see the production values. Check out the demo on xbox live if you want to get a taste of the gameplay.

    There are 6 characters?

My brother and our friend were trying to get connected, but only one of them could be on live at a time for some reason so we didn't get to do 3 player multiplayer yet, but the game is fun and challenging solo.

I sort of got a hold on the synthesizing stuff, but still don't quite get it.

Well, you start out with the option of 5 characters. Once you beat the game with Celine you unlock Curian or something. PM me your gamertag or add me, "Cartography".

Just played the demo, I have to say it's actually pretty fun. I'll probably rent it next week.

Played it last night for about 5 hours single player and co-op, I was surprized how fun it was, reminded me alot of PSO. If you like PSO, youll like this game.

Sold. How long is it and is there much replayability outside of co-op?

I dont have the 360, but I enjoy offline games more, so I played single player more and liked it just fine. Dunno about replayability, but it seems to be atleast a 20~30hr game.

I picked it up. It reminds me alot of Dynasty Warriors with the way the combat system is set up. Synthesizing is for shit and the characters are just fucking weird. But all in all seems ok. Locations are all pretty much the same though. I would give it 6/10 at best.

Every single dungeon in the game has randomly generated mobs/maps.

Gave the demo a whirl as well. Good christ the camera is awful. Looks like a fun little diversion, but i wouldn't compare it to PSO.

Is it a good thing? I dont count how many times I got bored of random generated dungeon before getting bored of normal map. Every play throught might be different, but every play through is going to be done in a ugly and generic location, instead of beautifully crafted area.

Ok, I have played through alot of Kingdom Under Fire now in the last few days. I took it back to Gamestop and returned it. After playing the same level over and over and over again, the game gets very monotous and no longer is fun. The synthesis interface is garbage. The plot is paper thin. While you may play the demo and think this game might be kind of fun, the novelty wears off quickly.

It's Dynasty Warriors minus the fun.
