    Mogtools

http://themogtoolz.free.fr/ found this on our private forum on our LS site.

Has anyone heard of this? i looked in search, and didn't really see anything related to it. Good feed back? bad feed back? Possibly keylogger site? Anyone familiar? I'd appreciate some clues to if what it says it promises is what it delivers.

    Re: Mogtools

I recommend this to all my friends who don't know how to manually change their own graphic settings. As far as I know, there isn't any keylogger, and it works fine.

I belive it just tweaks graphics settings.
It's probably best to ask these kind of questions over at the Windower forums.

It has been discussed before, the program's name is mogtoolz, not mogtools.

    yeah, it works well.

It's really great if you change your settings a lot. I tend to have settings for Dynamis, Besieged, and other lag-infested activites, one setting for high-resolution when I want to enjoy the graphics, and another setting for NM camping. It certainly suffices better than changing through the registry all the time, or being forced to use the included FFXIconfig utility (which doesn't allow for highest background resolution, etc)...

    Re: Mogtools

I'm confused, how do I actually launch it with the values I set within Mogtoolz?

Says to use the mogtoolz launcher... but when I use that, it says it cannot find the windower.ini (which doesnt exist within my windower folder?)

    Re: Mogtools

Windower.ini was renamed in the latest version of windower, and is called launcher.ini now.

I played around with Mogtoolz a bit, and what I did was just get the settings I wanted in the program itself, then find launcher.exe for the Game Executable field under the General tab, then hit Launch.

but wouldn't that do just what mogtoolz says it would do? (the incorrect thing: Windower's Launcher overwrites the registry with its own .ini values)
    so it would be:
MT changes reg > windower changes reg > opens with windowers reg's...

edit: and apparently there is a later release version that was posted on windower forums and not their actual site....

Windower's Launcher doesn't mess in the registry, so it wouldn't "overwrite" the settings you assembled in Mogtoolz. Just apply the settings you have set in Mogtoolz, which writes the configuration to the registry. Then launch Windower regularly. Simple. I've been doing it like this ever since Windower changed the name of the launcher, and it's been working just fine.
