Actually it's not entirely stupid to use brutal with Asuran Fists, as unless you have enough acc on that you rarely ever miss a swing, there's a good chance you'll miss a swing or two in AF, and there's a chance that the brutal will proc and make up for the missed swings. Sure there are better options, but ws-ing in brutal isn't that bad.Originally Posted by Howard Roark

Necro because it's the most recent topic on the idea.
Does a Monk's offhand fire on Asuran Fists? Can this double attack? How is my 71 MNK friend hitting 17% and 18% tp returns with Spartan Cesti?
Of course the offhand hits. It does on all HtH WSs. On WSs besides Asuran Fists, it can double attack. Spartan Cesti have huge delay. Why is he still using them at 71? Come to think of it, why did he ever use them at all? TMH +2 ftw.Originally Posted by Xanthu

The wording on Asuran Fists says it's an 8-hit WS. Since you attack /w both fists, and I assume each counts as a hit... so only 6 of the additional hits go off? (Which would make it 7-hit + extra fist). Combo is 3-hit if I recall, so it should be both fists + 2 additional, and Raging Fists is 5-hit... so both fists + 4 additional? (Am I making any sense?)
Ok, so if the offhand fires. That means it's 9 attacks then. or the offhand on a WS is a separate mathed number.
But if I remember right, this doesn't apply to dual wield, like a DRK/NIN with KC and Ridill. Just a bizzare way to go about it?
Ooh ooh. What about NIN/DRG with KC, Merc Kris, and on jumps?
Asked friend about this, he asks why does Howling fist, a 1-shot H2H WS, still give tp return for 2 fists?Originally Posted by Kirschy

Edit: one more thing. Kickattacks on WS? yes/no?
You get two punches in a Howling Fist with no Double Attacks.
All HtH WSs are two or more hits. No WS can exceed 8 hits. It goes mainhand, offhand, then 6 more hits.
Kicks don't fire on WSs, and Dune Boots don't affect Dragon Kick, in case you were wondering.
Well yes, but it blatantly appears to be a one-shot WS, as does 1-inch punch. But Asuran's "8" hits, and looking now at Raging Fists "5" hits, are actually 6 and 3 beyond a normal attack round.Originally Posted by evilpaul

right?![]()
The descriptions of the WS are actually misleading, in that the number is shows already incorporates the additional offhand hit.
Combo is stated to be a 3-hit WS. That's main-hand, extra hit, off-hand. This is unlike Jin, which is also stated to be 3-fold, where it's main hand, extra hit, extra hit, and then offhand if a second weapon is equipped.
So AF is actually probably a 7-hit WS, but since you can't use it without a valid offhand, it becomes always 8-hit.
Double-attack can fire on any H2H WS except AF, and possibly one-inch punch.
Much simpler way of putting it. My friend was thinking "gawd changing the whole system just for H2H?" When really, saying they just mis-named 3 WSes is simpler.Originally Posted by aurik
Hypothetical situation I can't test atm... WAR/MNK using a shield and empty main hand goes outside and does Combo and Raging Fists. How many hits would each be? Combo 2, and Raging Fists 4? Or would it still be 3 and 5, regardless?Originally Posted by aurik
Can't use H2H WS with shield equipped.Originally Posted by Kirschy
All multi hit weapons outside of Jailer weapons can proc on Jumps. Kraken Jumps are broken D:Ooh ooh. What about NIN/DRG with KC, Merc Kris, and on jumps?
I may have completely missed something, but why wouldn't One-Inch Punch?Originally Posted by aurik

Could be wrong, but no real incentive to test it...
Isn't blade:ei dark magic damage? I was under the impression DA (and offhand hits?) just didn't work on any of the magic/elemental ws, except maybe tachi:enpi. One inch punch on the other hand just says "Ignores enemy's defense. Amount ignored varies with TP.", the same message as wheeling thrust, which can definitely DA. I'm no mnk/pup so obviously I don't know for sure, but one inch punch not being able to DA wouldn't be consistent with anything else that I can see.Originally Posted by aurik
