    pDIF changes?

    Now that the dust seems to have settled from the 2h weapon changes, are there actually any changes to damage calculation from before the first buff, or is the only change left how acc/att are calculated from DEX/STR?

    The PDiF cap was removed. Beforehand, two-handers capped out very early and with mid-end AH gear. That is no longer the case.

    This was never the case, you always needed to break ~700-800 to cap on non-trivial merit mobs.

    Hm. I shoulda specified which type of mob in my previous post.

    Regardless, the pDIF cap has been removed.

    The only recent data I could find was from viewtopic.php?p=809385#p809385

    In which, redoing the math with the corrected fstr value, it seems his normal hits ranged from pDIF 1.82-2.60, and crits from 2.87-3.12. Which sounds like there is still a 2h pDIF cap, it's just 0.2 higher than the 1h pDIF cap. I doubt the whole graph is shifted up by 0.2, perhaps the cRatio cap is a bit higher for 2h weapons?

    I just noticed a mistake on my old post heh the 1 handers crit should be 1.6~3.15

    pDIF cap is definitely not removed. That's ridiculous. Otherwise you could go out and hit a level 1 mob for thousands of damage with a normal melee attack, which I assure you does not work.

    If you had the non-existant gear to do so, you would indeed be able to hit a level 1 mob for thousands of damage with a normal melee attack.

    Pre-2H update, if you had this very same non-existant gear, you would likely hit the level 1 critter ranging from 170-240ish damage a swing (I.E. the cap).

    No. You see if pDIF doesn't cap, you can walk up to a level 1 mob, because it has such little defense, and have a cRatio of over 20. Add on a high damage weapon and capped fSTR, of lets say, 100, 100*20 = 2000 damage. My GKT on level 1 bunnies never broke like 300 I think... so no, pdif is NOT uncapped, that's bullshit.

    Indeed. Used to love getting 3k predator claws on Too Weak. Was one of the few perks of the job, and SE had to go and nerf it. I wouldn't have minded the nerf, if they gave us something good in return like, say, fixing the damn job.

    That's not the reason.

    The reason is pDIF for NPC is capped at 4.0, not 3.0 like PC (old number)

    So are the pDIF formulas changed to reflect the higher cap now? Or are they the same, and only the crit cap was raised?

    Old formulas (for melee damage):

    crit cap was raised, high end of pDIF also raised for both 1h and 2h
