This is assuming you have no refresh bodies of course.
Those choices don't even make sense imo.. AF2 for /DRK why? Other then for Stun recast but I think Goliard would be better with the -5enm since it still maintains 4% Haste. For CS Stun AF2 is useless. Goliard for Merit parties where I would rather Cure faster and then rest? Sure Conserve MP would prolly be nice but it's a small amount. AF1 for non-enfeebles? nothx.

It's kinda dumb to have gear and not use it. If you aren't using your gear to it's full potential you prolly aren't doing anything that actually requires skill so it doesn't really matter.

Makes me sad to see all these RDMs with AF2 hat/dalm/morri who don't do shit and can't solo for shit. Not that you need any of that to solo ENMs or Sea/Sky NMs, just would make shit easier. Then again, I'm kinda happy I'm one of the few doing all that, leaves more for me.

Jud, i'f you're pulling hate off a Stun, you be doing something wrong anyway. -_-;;; AF2 is timers and Fast Cast, important when Stunning GoH/Fulm. To be honest, I use AF1Hat/Nashira for Stunning, ahahaha.

Goliard for Merit makes sense, to me. People aren't usually "seriously dying" so the Fast Cast isn't needed, where are Conserve MP would be nice to continue a great Haste/Dia Cycle.
When you are solo Stunner for Tiamat you are gonna pull hate eventually. AF2 is 5% Timer reduction? Goliard is 4% Haste, the difference MIGHT be 1s and if you need that you are doing something wrong also or solo stunning. Fast Cast does jack shit for Stun, sorry. It's like what, 1.5s cast? You might shave .2 off it. I wouldn't use only one body for shit anyways, so none of that applies to me, lol. I would be swapping bodies on 90% of my casts and probably be trying to swap 2 bodies on some casts, even with my shitty 360 Macros. AF2 for Utsu casts, AF for Bind, Goliard for curing myself, AF2>Errant for SS, etcetc. My point was mainly that Bodies don't work with indivdual subs or situations but with individual spells.

    Re: RDM Body Question

I can see solo stunning. Even then, I'll idle/rest in Errant to drop the Enmity. :3

One of our recent Tia's tho, I was solo stunner most the fight, and I never pulled hate with Nashira +4 Enmity merits. I really odn't have much -enmity either, but our group is good shit. I don't have to heal much, I concentrate on Stun/Refresh/Slow/Phal and I'm good. :3

It's really all about yours and everyone's playstyle. You lag a bit? Maybe AF2 is yer thing. (You and Jud mention 5% Recast on timers, but it's got Fast Cast, too guys, don't forget! Some are a bit slower on the trigger, imo.) Low DRK skill/you want potency? Nashira<3. You want Conserve MP/Enmity-? Definitely Goliard.

EDIT: Jud made that last post, and yes. If you're a solo stunner with TTK, then fucking use Goliard. Sorry, Jud. >.> HKO, hehehehehehe.

Actually I was referring to Solo stunner in Ackz. I was on BLM as well for that. I tank Tia in TKK, we have no hate problems while I'm in tyvm.

You made my point though, lol. The bodies are situational and need to all be used according to certain spells, that one guy was just like Goliard=Merit, AF2=/DRK, AF1=Everything Else and that's horribly retarded, lol. Obviously someone who doesn't take the time to use his gear properly or just doesn't do near as much with it as I do and I don't even have the elite fancy shit some RDMs have.. yet. We may differ on various uses for things but we both agree you should be swapping these bodies in and out all over where he said overswapping is overkill. Which imo is lame, if you have the gear and don't use or dno't know how then why in the fuck did you lot it.

I never debated your point retard. ;P And regardless of who is tanking Tia, the whole of TTK fails if it's still taking them 2-3 hours. -_-; However, I will say your tanking has probably led them to wipe less. And you cotank with HKO.... That's like maintanking. lol.

    1) If you need AF2 body for MORE fastcast in a merit party, then there is something wrong with your merit party.

    2) If you're solo stunner at Tiamat, and you pull hate, then your tanks aren't so hot (or they are dead). RDM/DRK with moderate -Enmity gear (on Tama's, Mahatma Slops, P.Rope) should not be pulling hate off a good NIN/DRK or PLD/NIN. However that extra 5% Fast Cast is extra... saftey buffer I'd say on Fulmation/GoH. And really, try stunning Jormungand without full Fast Cast gear (no loljormungand comments please )

Wow, you completely failed to understand what I posted and then called ME a retard? Did you read the first part of my post or did you just read whatever you wanted to? I said that trying to double-macro any body for a -single- spell cast is overkill (i.e. start casting in Golliard and finish casting in AF1).

OBVIOUSLY you'd use AF1 for Enfeebling.
OBVIOUSLY you'd use AF2 for Ninjitsu.

See a trend here? I didn't cover all the obvious stuff because, well, I thought it was obvious.

Full of yourself much? In any point of my post was I talking about solo'ing HNM strategies? Curing a merit party isn't exactly the same level of complexity.

So sick of reading the same "if you need xyz you're doing something wrong".

You are Red Mages, your job is to min/max, that's been the entire evolution of the job over the last few years. It doesn't matter wtf you think you need, it matters what you can do. What you choose to practice is your own business, but if your group wipes because you were lazy and not using the correct gear for the situation then you fail.

Learn your jobs and shut the fuck up.

Why assume that? With a refresh body you're still going to macro in golliard for the 1 tic during which a cure will go off. But I have been wondering exactly where that conserve mp (stacked with Fourth Mace + Magnetic earring) would average out to less than 1 mp saved per cast.

And to add to the list of obvious Goliard spells, you don't really need your light staff/af2 body for dia 2 (or 3) either. I'm using Goliard right now for refresh, haste, cures, dia, pro/shell, and for convert macro.

Every RDM should have full MP after they Convert and cure up.
You're wording that a bit strange but if you mean after convert/curing you'd not lose mp by switching to your regular gear then no. If I macro into any kind of potency gear after converting I lose over 200 mp. So keeping Goliard on for haste/dia/refresh/cures after convert means I actually do get to use that mp.

AF2 body is 10% casting time reduction/5% recast reduction.

10% fast cast isn't gonna make or break a stun on GoH or Fulmination, if you miss it you plain suck or you are lagging. If you need AF2 body to assure yourself you won't miss it then you need to learn how to stun, my computer lags like hell when fighting Cerberus and I consistently stun even if I am only getting like 11 FPS.

I do agree with Bleu though, RDM/DRK solo stunning should never get hate unless the tanks suck badly or get roared/get killed.

AF1 is situational for enfeebling, I'd prefer Mahatma most of the time over it for Slow/Para/Blind.

    1. I said I was BLM solo stunning. I've done Tia enough to know people are full of shit if they saw they never pull hate off their tanks. Unless you kill Tia incredibly fast, which not all LSes can do. In those events that you kill slower, those RDMs need a little extra -Enmity.

    2. If you seriously think any Fast Cast gear is going to make or break your stun you are an idiot. So sorry, but 10% reduction is not going to do SHIT for Stun. The spell takes .5s to cast. 10% of .5 is....... .05. Congrats on not stunning any faster. I have stunned Jorm easily as BLM/WHM, if you can't stun Jorm it's NOT because you don't have Fast Cast, it's because you either;

    a. are lagging
    b. Suck.

Your statment was broad and stupid.

You said, AF1 for EVERYTHING ELSE. You said AF2 for RDM/DRK. Sorry but your comment is bad advice and I pointed out why. You were broad and generalized the job, anyone who would take your advice on those 3 topics would be a shitty RDM.

I said I wouldn't solely be using one body per situation like you stated, so your comparison fails. I simply stated one thing I would possibly do differently. I also agree'd that Goliard would have it's uses but again, your statement was broad and bad advice.

You simply made a broad generalization about bodies and situations and left out anything else. If you expected your shitty advice to go without comment, you are pretty foolish. Double Macroing isn't overkill, it's people using their gear to it's full potential and prolly people who are doing shit that requires them to be at their best. Sure, double macroing shit in a merit party would be a bit much but who the fuck cares about a merit party.

    Re: RDM Body Question

I'm done responding to Judai because he's only interested in arguing and stroking his ego. My first response was a quick general one to the OP about basic body piece selections, nothing more.

For anyone else that cares I use AF2 body, AF1+1 hat, Loq. Earring, Swift Belt and I Haste myself when I'm main stunning on GoH/Fulmation. That cuts down cast/recast times enough that we only need two reliable stunners, and on occasion I've been able to cover them solo.

I don't have a Golliard body, and before I had any refresh bodies (i.e. I only had AF1 and AF2) I used AF2 curing, ninjitsu, stuns, etc., and AF1 for everything else (because there really aren't any better options.) Typicaly for healing heavy operations today (curing a merit party, Limbus, etc.) I use my Dalmatica. My "standing around" body is Morrigan's Robe, since it has pretty good stats all around for whaver I might need to cast unmacro'ed.

In some situations, such as merit parties, I could swap bodies all day long for the *best* stats but I choose not to because it's completely unnecissary and potentially screws up my max MP pool.

Considering that my linkshell has 20 pairs of Herald's Gaiters I don't feel the need to argue anything regarding hate situations on Tiamat.

I think the evidence out there suggests that you're right to go with Errant for Slow/Para on any mob that resists aren't a problem on. I've generally been sticking with AF1+1 body however, since I can notice the resist rate change with that +15 Enfeebling on some mobs (Dynamis-Xarc, Cerberus, etc.) On non-HNM an extra .4 proc/minute hasn't been a compelling reason for me to do anything else, but for HNM like Fafnir I can definately see the point of using a +MND body.

/clap much better advice. Stick to giving good advice instead of shitty 3 line quips about gear in generalized situations. Fast Cast still does nothing for Stun casting time but no worries.

Using AF1+1 body full time for enfeebling magic for the most part isn't very good advice imo.
Xarc mobs aren't very resistant, shouldn't have any trouble enfeebling them with Duelist's Chapeau and a full potency set.

Not the regular mobs, but on the NM's you might get resisted a few times with full potency+chapeau on. From my experience at least. Regular mobs shouldn't require more than a chapeau for +skill.
