Opinions about circumsicion

I'm obviously not going to convince any of you in any way that getting cut has less of a chance at getting diseased, so there's really no point in arguing.

That's because if there was any compelling evidence we would already be convinced, but there's not.

If there were any compelling evidence to the contrary, it wouldn't be so popular.

I'll make it clear before I say this. I am neither for nor against it. I honestly don't care what you do to your penis/your kids penis.

Using the defense that a kid should be able to choose for themselves when they're older is a bit illogical, in my opinion. We're parents because we have to make choices for our children because they're not mature enough to do so. A parent that wants to remove the foreskin for fear or, WHATEVER small chance of something happening, should be able to do so, in my opinion. Someone who would rather not have it done to their child, that's their choice.

My son had a tooth that was at risk of messing up the rest of his mouth. Now, I could've waited until he was older to let him decide, but by then it would've already fucked things up, so even though he didn't want it done, we got it pulled.

When he got the infection he would've much rather not gone to have surgery and just let the thing fall off, honestly. As a parent, though, I had to decide whether or not to have done, even if he didn't want to.

If my kid doesn't want a hair cut, fine, I'm not gonna make him get one. He can decide that because there isn't a risk to his health when it comes to that, be it very small or very large.

And also, had we got him circumsized at the time of his birth it would have been fully covered with the rest of his birth expenses.

Having it done at 5 years old, mind you we have really good insurance, it cost us five thousand dollar after what was covered by our insurance. So for some families it may be about preventing future complications and preventing outrageous bills, which they really can't afford.

Find me factual information from a valid source proving there's some penis destroying infection that occurs in 1 in 15 uncircumcised males that never occurs if circumcised.


I mean, if you're telling the truth, I'm sure you've got information around on what it was called and can find the facts quickly.

I mean, if you're telling the truth, I'm sure you've got information around on what it was called and can find the facts quickly.

It was an infection from pieces of skin rubbing together at that spot, which if there was no skin there i.e. he was circumsized, it wouldn't have happened. If that has a specific name then I don't know it, other than skin rubbing together. As for the statistics, I don't know what range they were in, just all over or for that hospital.

Of course, you could just continue to come off like an ass or you can look it up yourself. Who in the world would make up a story about their kids penis just to post on a forum, because that almost seems like what you're trying to imply.

In the end, it all goes back to culture. You aren't going to convince a culture that they're doing things wrong, no matter how hard you try, and it's always going to be like this. I suppose you're just going to have to get used to it.
