Funny, this is an exact point I made FOR getting circumcision when I posted last.

There are a lot of working parents these days and when you can't guarantee that your child is having diapers changed as often as you personally would like, etc, preventative measures could go a long way in ensuring your child won't have problems and cost you a lot more money down the road. I certainly hope that's more what you meant than implying someone was a bad parent, because that's quite rude.

There would also be a reason insurance companies cover the complete cost of circumcision at birth; they don't just cover procedures willy-nilly without some sort of reason to believe it's better in the long run and won't cost the company more money later as well.

Anywho, I'll have to find out how daycares handle boys with foreskin. I know first hand that daycare workers can be quite lazy. When my baby momma first started her director position, the daycare didn't have an opening for an infant (waiting lists are long here) so we had to put her in another center. There she contracted salmonella. Some newer workers (and lazy old ones) will just change a diaper without washing their hands BEFORE they touch your children's hoo hah. That means if they recently changed a child's diaper before your childs, they may pass on virii, infection, etc etc. If your child is in a daycare center, I wouldn't expect thorough cleanliness.

Yeah, I didn't mean like literally I think she didn't change the kid's diaper, that's why I apologized.

Basically what I was saying was just that it sounds like something was much more wrong than simply not being circumcised, either be it a mistake in under/over care, excessive wetting, things like that which are extremely common and especially in children that age can get way bad way fast. I was annoyed with all the people saying "omg her kid got an infection therefore foreskin is evil!" and I chose a really, really bad way of saying it.

It comes down to a combination of people being convinced of what they've always believed, and the fact that it's so common. I'd actually be curious as to rather or not they would cover it in countries where it's not the norm. I'll have to look sometime.

It really doesn't require that much extra care, at all. When they're very young they may still be pissing inside of it if their foreskin is prevalent enough or whatever, but if you're cleaning the area with baby wipes or whatever, even if you're not aware and intentionally pushing it back you're still going to get it for the most part.

Right, whatever. Like my first job was an IT job. I worked for a development agency that owned a ton of apartment complexes in Seattle. From 14 to 17 I worked after school and on the weekend sometimes.

It wasn't construction like you're "describing" but I've had to stand over a sink for 45 minutes with that gross blue grainy goo shit getting paint, plaster, and whatever the fuck else I had to deal with out from under my fingernails and whatever. I repainted, recarpeted, and basically cleared out apartments and then put them back together. :> k thx

What I'm saying is some workers won't even pull it back. They'll just brush it off, wipe the balls and be done with it. This nonchalant attitude is prevalent in all childcare centers. We see it where she is now, which is one of the most accredited centers in Indiana, and we see it in the small individually owned centers. Liek someone said, alot of people don't even know what foreskin is, much less how to clean it. It isn't like they hire trained individuals into some centers. Tasha got her first daycare job with 0 experience and 16 years old. I just wouldn't have much faith in trusting a childcare center to keep it clean. It may even be a moot point anyway. I'm sure if the parents clean it really good after the child is picked up, it would be fine.
