When my son was born my husband and I decided not to have him circumsized, since everyone really said there was no point to it and all.

When he was a baby it really wouldn't have affected him as much as it did having done it at 5 years old. The poor guy couldn't walk for like a week, just sat in the floor or scooted/crawled to get to the bathroom and stuff.

I'm not saying you should or shouldn't have it done to your child, that isn't a choice for me to make, I'm just saying that people should get as much information on it before they decided whether to do it or not.

I'm pretty much against genital mutilation of infants. You say it reduces chances of various diseases, fine. When the person in question is old enough, they can choose to get circumcised. A lot of these diseases are sexual related or develop in later life, so I don't see why an infant should be worried about them.
