Don't forget to macro in Rostrums for the start of the songs too, along with Manteel/Gomlek. :D

Maybe it's just me, but macroing in fast cast before songs (or any spells for that matter) doesn't work unless I put a /wait in it, which is counterproductive in the first place. I usually just idle in rostrums than macro volunteer's nails(lol) in and out during debuffs.

True, but you could hit the macro while running to the mob, etc...

I was lookin around at some stuff, and I wanted to see if maybe I'm missing something, or if these two pieces really aren't so hot...

AFAIK buff songs are a 8 second cast for the most part, when it says casting time -10/12%, does that mean it casts at the point 10/12 earlier on the % casting bar, or is that supposed to be taken off of 8 seconds? 12% of 8 is .96, meaning Sha'ir wouldn't take any actual seconds off of songs if the game rounded down(which it almost always does, like for recast timers) unless you had the HQ Manteel or a Loq Earring/Rostrums included with it. I don't have either of these pieces, so I'm not sure exactly how it works, can someone fill me in?

Anyways, I've been wearing Loq and Rosties full-time on my BRD for a while - the combo made me change my buff macros from /wait 12 to /wait 11 (~6% reduction). Add a Manteel or Gomlek to that and you're down to about /wait 9.

Nah, the run where I would've gotten a pair was the one when FR nearly imploded(the one I left FR after). I'll be looking into getting a set w/ MH eventually, but BRD's kind of on the back burner for a bit til I get my RDM capes and my last 2 staves. :/

That's true for the body slot if you have like dalm + yigit/manteel, but what else would you be idling in the foot slot besides rostrums? Well besides maybe full marduk... and I guess maybe those shoes with +35 hp at some hnm? But if you're using those for the hp, you probably wouldn't want to macro into rostrums anyway?

I use Goliard Clogs fulltime currently, I'd probably idle in those still if I had Rostrums to switch to.
