Cool episode. I like the fact that they send terminators back for reasons other than killing John. Kind of like side quests in a video game.
edit: the part of the episode that bothered me though was how Cromardi (sp?) came through the time jump with only his head. It was explained since his chip was intact that he can rebuild himself. How does a head with no appendages rebuild itself?
Okay so i'm confused now... since they closed the door after escaping with the stuff, does that mean that the terminator is going back on standby, or is he still going to try and escape out of there?
Did you watch the first 3 episodes >_>? The head went through the time jump (plot hole, no artificial material can go through the time portals) and the body remained in the rubble of the bank. When the head "returned" (99->07 for the body in a junkyard, 1sec for the head travelling through time) the chip reactivated the head and apparently Terminator's have WiFi. <_<Originally Posted by Norelco
More than likely since his mission is no longer complete, he'd have to attempt to do it over but then again, a Terminator vs a nuke shelter, probably never see this guy again. Early loose end of the series more than likelyOriginally Posted by Exoduso
Well technically it's a part of his body, so it's not really a plot hole.
I missed episode #2. A friend explained to me what happened after I posted. Sorry for the confusion.Originally Posted by Luto
apparently objects can go forward in time, not back.
No they can't, otherwise they would have clothes.
It's not an object because it's a part of his body.. it's the only explanation I have.
I'm pretty sure it's explained in the first movie that a machine itself cannot travel through time without being encased in skin.Originally Posted by Exoduso
Thats always bothered me the most about the storyline in general. There should technically never have been a John Connor, nor a similar resistance, in the first place.Originally Posted by arus2001

This is why time travel is fucking bullshit in a show or movie. Fags like to argue the intracacies of something fictional.
Well, if the writers for sequels/spinoffs/etc just followed the fucking rules set in the first episode/movie/game, we'd just have to find something else to argue about.
Technically, you're right. Without the Terminator going back in time in the first place to kill Sarah, Reese never would have been sent back to meet Sarah and have sex with her making John. But, really that's the ultimate paradox of the series. (I guess?) But then again, as stated above. X+Y love affair and John gets born anyways, making the machines have to send a machine back, and then Reese has to go back to ensure John is born, which in turn just creates the whole situation.Originally Posted by Xavier
My take on the whole time travel thing is this; you can't prevent something from happening in the future, you only change how it happens. Judgement Day is still going to happen (Surprisingly, I'd be disappointed if it didn't.) That's not to say what Sarah/John/etc is fighting for is useless, just that they're fighting against something that is going to happen anyways. If they prevent the machines from taking over it also messes with their history, Reese is never sent back and John is never born and Sarah doesn't learn about SkyNet, if that never happens, no one stops it and it happens and the situation starts over.
Fucking confusing.

Great show so far, btw.
Mind fuck... just enjoy the show.Originally Posted by Luto

To be honest I hadn't even taken the time to think about that aspect. Perhaps Judgment Day is inevitable merely because of the impossibility of John Connor stopping it from happening in the first place.Originally Posted by Luto
Of course, that still doesn't get around the initial paradox, but interesting none the less. Time travel is some complicated shit.
I'm pretty sure the inevitability of Judgement Day was tackled in T3 near the end. I don't really remember and I could be wrong.
It was certainly labeled inevitable but no concrete theory was actually given.Originally Posted by Luto
You're both right... that's why I don't really try to pay too much attention to John's silly little attempts to destroy the terminators that are sent after him, since new ones just keep coming anyways. I just try to enjoy it for what it is heh.Originally Posted by Xavier
