It's kind of funny you say this being a butter pecan rican myself and my mother telling me how spaniards and latin americans don't like each other. But at the same time when I went to Barcelona during a port call in the navy I actually enjoyed myself more then when I went to stay with family in Puerto Rico.

I live in Oklahoma, and where I am, can't say I see much racism. I will say that I live in a college town, so more mixing of different ideals does occur. Before that I did live in Texas, and I didn't see too much racism, though on my visits to different parts of the country I did see racism, to various races and creeds. My friends that I've had from various countries tend to share a general hate of homosexuals, which I don't quite understand, I just guess it runs in their culture. Strangely enough, they acted quite metro...borderline homosexual, but, eh, to each their own.

My personal experience in regards to this subject are as follows...

I am a Black male and I have stated before, that I am appalled by the entire white guilt thing. My mom openly raised us to work hard for what wanted and needed and if we failed, then to turn and point the finger at yourself. She would teach us life lessons and constantly remind us that she was raising 3 respectful men, not a gang of "niggas". That blame whitey shit is just a crutch and a way to some how justify failure and self loathing, which is really what it is. White people that actually feel guilty, are just as stupid and the person throwing said guilt trip. You will see my post sometimes where I talk shit about ignorant people of any race/religion or creed. Ignorance is not limited to race.

I know my past, I love learning about my past and always will, but do I feel what happened black people entitles me to compensation or reparations? Fuck no. But with that being said, you can look at some people in this very thread that are doing the same thing that they are shunning, which would be using the term "Black people like this" or "Black people expect that", that all inclusive shit is fucking rubbish. If you pay attention then you will know the difference between a black person and a nigga. Pay close attention to the Boondocks next time, each character represents a facet of the culture and is a personification of the black culture.

Assuming that all black people are all about fighting the power and killing whitey make you the very thing you are criticizing; an ignorant fuck aka "a nigga". I went to University of South Carolina on my own, no united negro college fund bullshit, no affirmative action help. Graduated on my own, and not once felt like "crackas" owed me shit. But to answer one of the original questions by the OP, yes I know and have seen racist people first hand. I had a guy that lived down the street from me growing up that was openly in the KKK, had tattoos such as "Nigger killer" and would say that he even had "Nigger pit" in his backyard that he wanted to throw us in. I shit you not. Growing up in North Carolina this is not odd to me, there are STILL cross burnings in peoples yards here, Cars spray painted with KKK and Arian quotes on cars and houses every few months. Generalizing white people with these deviants is no different than lumping blacks into a single group.

Come to the north west and you can see the arian nation in work. Half the guys i work with roll "White Pride" tats. Not saying i support their beliefs and oddly enough when it comes to work I have never witnessed them disrespect any race. I work construction though so we get all types and if you cant work with everyone then you will never work. I've lived for several years in Fayetteville, NC. This is a thriving cesspool of activity due to the huge military bases (Ft. Bragg, Simmons Air Field), the location next to I-95 and in general, NC is a nice place to live.
I'm an Asian female and I've personally seen little stupid trashy white kids in high school that thought they were tough shit because they drew a swastika on their hands and goose-stepped around calling people spics, niggers, gooks and chinks. Hollywood casting couldn't have done better with the shaved heads, chain wallets, biker boots and closet paranoia that you could see in their faces.
Most 'supremacists' are probably just lonely people that are so desperate to belong to anything, so incapable of accepting accountability for themselves, that they band together under superfluous pretense.

Personally, I don't care. Believe in anything you want. Exactly, but that is their problem not yours or mine. I refuse to apologize for someone else being a close minded buffoon. All you can do is do you, if someone else has an issue with it then they can lose sleep over it. You know me very well, I am forward and to the people and you know all too well how people are. Ignorance is bliss, the truth always has and always will scare people.

I personally, respect open minded people to no end. Sadly, it is a dying trend. People are all too content conforming to who other want them to be. That equates to failure from the jump.
