while i want to give a shoutout to the dad for what he did, i can't help but think about what's ganna happen to the family from here on. with the father probably going to jail, the family is going to have to deal with the onset of financial problems, on top of the emotional ones. not to mention, he will possibly be put on a sex offender's list depending on the state, directly affecting his future employability and the neighborhood his family can live.

I suspect the father won't suffer too much from being put on a sex offenders register. All he needs to do is explain that a piece of shit raped his little girl, so he taught him a lesson. Going by the current poll results, I suspect he'd be given a PROMOTION at most places.

Voted no. Very nice posts proves its a definite no-no. I'd like to also add, that kid will come back home with a soar ass, a bruised body and vengenance in his heart (possibly). He did it once, and now for 2 years there will be no one to protect that poor girl, he may take out what happened to him on his stepsister, or even his mother, you never know. Yeah in the end I think it's just going to make things worse, and now that the step dad did it to him, it just further reinforced the idea that it's somehow ok to do that shit. I learned in what, 2nd grade, two wrongs don't make a right... no matter the situation, and I think the family is about to find out why.

We have a justice system for a reason, and although it may not be the greatest at times, its there for a reason. It'd be a crazy world if we all just did what we see fit for punishment. (Hell Imus, Vick, Baldwin, and Kramer would be dead by now.)

Did the kid deserve that? Yeah. But was it right that the step dad took matters into his own hands? I don't think so. I voted No.

Edit: Although, thinking about it, I can't say that I would have been able to control myself either had I been in the stepfather's shoes.

Ducking your inevitable parental punishment would have just made it worse when he did catch up to you. It just shows you're not willing to take responsibility for your mistake, and your parent is just gonna beat it into your head worse in a Southern region. Sodomizing him with a wrench was a little too overboard for me, but they prolly wouldn't have charged him if he just beat him harder with a bat to compensate for it.

The reason we have a justice system is so that impassioned acts like this don't occur.

Is it hilarious? Yes. But it's not justice.

Besides, if an 18 year old kid went to jail for anally raping an 8 year old girl, he'd have far worse things shoved up his pooper than wrench-like objects. What his fellow inmates would do to him would be "justice" enough, no reason for daddy (even one as checkered and unsavory as the one in question) to go to jail too just to provide a very brutal lesson the kid would've learned in short order.

Well, this is assuming the 18-year-old adult stepson is out of jail before the father is.
