Would he need conditioning? You're acting as if you or anybody else placed in the environment he's lived in would also decide to rape your 8-year-old stepsister. Maybe he's just that way, no matter how perfectly and responsibly he was brought up.

With what little i know of psychology, the whole "he acts this way because he was born this way" thing doesn't work with me anymore. And no, you can never replicate the same environment for a single person, there will always be differences. So i'm not saying in any way that had a different person been put in the same environment as him, that this same exact thing would have happend, from a psychological point of view that is just plain horse shit, because there are too many factors. However, for this specific individual, this is the situation that unfolded, and thus we have to focus on that instead of unproveable hypothetical situations.

And the problem with what you just stated is, you can't do a thing with it, no less can you prove it.

I can't say for sure what I would do if a family member raped my daughter. I don't know if I'd have went strait eye-for-an-eye retribution, but, to be honest, he'd probably hope for that as opposed to what I may do. Where I have a problem with this, is it doesn't seem to be a crime of passion. I could forgive him if he walked in on the act, and proceeded to beat the kid to within an inch of his life. I think I'd probably do the same. The issue here, is the guy actually called the cops, and had time to get in the right frame of mind and yet his crime seems pre-meditated. It is, without a doubt, his fault for either not realizing or not caring what reprecussions he may face and how they would effect his daughter.

The discussion fails to acknowledge that the stepfather may very well have nothing to do with raising the stepson. It does not state how long they actually were stepfather and stepson, so blaming the stepfather for the 18 year old actually raping his daughter may not be correct due to the lack of facts.

With that said, the kid is one sick puppy and he deserved what he got.
I hope he gets it even worse in prison.

The current discussion is replacing the previous one which was mostly comprised of praising for the stepfather's actions. And by the way, the lack of facts works both ways.

He raped an 8 year old, there is no justification to actions such as those.
