    Re: Little Big Planet

i was going on the assumption of a download version for $40, disc version for $60 much like warhawk was. at least thats what the sony rep was speculating with me.

    Re: Little Big Planet

I guess not many understand the challenge of creating anymore lol.

I think it will be a huge success especially with the unlockables, downloadable content customization of characters.
the sharing is going to be awsome also. I am sure there is alot of game play types they have not added or shown yet.

i can see them even making a side scrolling shooter type add on ala contra. the basic game types they showed were very simple and quickly put together but with a little time and thinking.. anything goes.

smash brothers type level is another example of what i think could be recreated with the right add ons if implemented

I don't get this overhyped thing. To be, overhyped means something will be bad (or, after released was bad, thus the hype was overrated), but hype is just hype, it has nothing to do with the quality of the game when it's released. Call these games overhyped after they come out, right now calling them overhyped is pretty stupid.

I'm pretty tired, so that may have made no sense.

mgs4 is overhyped, there isnt as big of a mgs market as a lot of people think there is.

lbp is overhyped as well, but it reaches out to a larger market which will help its sales greatly.

I don't care if the game is good or bad, I will buy it regardless. Hype or not. If you were a hardcore (and stupid) fan, you would understand.

Edit: So yeah, about them LBig planets >.>; Think it will be compatible with the camera to upload your own textures?

Wait, so the main point of this game is to design your own lvls/characters and share them? I've always thought the game would be a platformer like Mario, run around and save the princess with content creation as a bonus after you've beaten the game.

No one but the developers of those two games know if the games are overhyped. The popularity of the games might be blown out of proportion a little bit but until you've played the game you have no idea if it's as good as they say it is.

They never talked about allowing the player to program game mode (or did they?) Their level editor look complex, but unlike WC3 and the like, you will be forced to use their mode.

It can be overhyped if people are overeacting to something that wouldnt normally get people's attention. Everyone talked about the game when they saw the character editor in the very first video...but quite frankly, what's so special about it? Cute character design and HD graphic? When people are sold to the game before seeing more than 30sec worth of gameplay, I'm gonna call it overhyped

Like Izembo said it'll be both. The guys at Media Molecule said they have their own massive lineup of levels completed which will be included with the game. And sure they may throw in some gimmicky story, who knows.

I look forward to playing through levels with my friends doing all kinds of both wacky and hilarious stuff with the physics and game design.

Just the sheer amount of levels which will be created will give it endless replay, people will always be coming up with new ways of doing stuff with varying difficulty.

I also read on some interview there will be "Boss" characters and the like, so that probably is a prelude to some type of little story like Semitry was referring to.
