Within the Marble Bridge Tavern(or something) in Upper Jeuno you can play a 4-man 12,000 gil game. Which means you win like 40+k with a win.
I can't win Chocobo Circuit races for the life of me. I thought this would be easy gil, but I can never seem to win. What is a good build to ensure victory for the C4, C3, and maybe C2?
Just past the AH in Lower Jeuno, there is another Venture Roll table around the corner.
POL Viewer questions:
1. Will the Ignore feature make me unable to see when someone on my f-list is signed on/receive messages from them? If not, what exactly does it do?
2. If it makes someone on my f-list seem temporarily poof gone, how do I turn it on?
3. How do I turn it back off, when I'm done being angry with them?
BRD songs don't get interrupted, so its less of a big deal than on RDM. Honestly, from a non-BRD's standpoint, I'd say fastcast is only worth it if it is actually making your job easier. If all it is doing is allowing you to sit around for an extra 5 seconds on top of the minute you already have nothing to do in, then don't bother. (These numbers are pulled out of my ass, but you get my point)Originally Posted by Osede
If you have BRD 75, and do not have a -songcast body, or are at least endeavouring to get yigit, you're pretty damn gimp I'd have to say.
Some don't like minstrel's, understandable, but I think it's pretty important to have if you're a serious bard. It's pricy, but it's one of the few staple BRD items that is. :3 Stacking fastcast and -songcast is very win for merits, and pretty much anything you'd want to do as a 75 BRD.
Is Maneater/Ridill pretty much end-all for non-relic Warriors? I would have thought that Joyeuse's DA effect would outweigh adding an Axe to the equation.
I'm not even a Warrior, just curious. :ashira:
Axe/Sword only worth if you have sword merits. (For e-peen purposes)
Axe/Joy In birds because bonus dmg.
Axe/Axe still good.
G.Axe works too if you don't want to invest in Axe/Axe build, which I would assume requires more Acc. (I'm not a melee)
Sorry, I meant if you own a Ridill. I see most of the Rarriors I know do Maneater/Ridill, and I know one of them owns a Joyeuse, just never uses it. Then again, I've seen Vorpal Blade all of maybe twice, so Rampage could be the reason I'm looking for, and I just don't remember.![]()
Warriors with Ridill often get bored of Rampage spam and would use G.Axe from time to time.
Joy/Ridill or Rid/Joy (idk) also works on birds.
But yeah, if you have a Ridill and are not using it, you are doing it wrong.
P.S. Yes Ridill is that good. (For meripo and Salvage)
I appriciate the effort, but you're completely whooshing by my question.![]()
Axe/Ridill
Vs.
Ridill/Joyeuse
I realize the common answer is, "If you're at Nyzul, use Joyeuse for the piercing bonus", but I would have thought the effect from Joyeuse would out perform an Axe. I'd just like to know if there's a reason no one uses Joyeuse as a Ridill off-hand Sword regularly.![]()
Oh, yes, the damage output is better Axe/Ridill and Rampage.
Plus the extra acc. of axe is better than sword/sword (A well geared WAR should not have problems going sword/sword I assume, of course talking out of my ass... ._.)
Edit:
Here you go, have fun:

Axe/Ridill will outperform Ridill/Joyeuse most of the time. Rampage will out-damage Vorpal Blade, plus you will do more do more damage with your main hand.Originally Posted by Tsuko_Asura
Joyeuse is overrated imo for WAR. Sure you swing twice but at the loss of a ton of Acc/Atk that you get from have 30+ more kill in Axe. Rid/Joy can be cool and fun but usually Man/Rid will outparse it. I have a Joy but I don't even use it on WAR, I personally like and parse better Man/Jugg. Unless you have full Sword Merits, you just loose too much Acc for Joy to be fully worth it imo. I have outparsed tons of WARs who had better gear then me at the time because they used Joy and had crappy Acc. (Now my gear is on par or better and I outparse them by even more..)
Really, SIS. Depedning on your set-up, what gear you have, what merits, etcetc.. They are all solid choices.
Hi there, don't post much but here goes. Newly leveled 75 war, with many pieces of gear to still buy. I want both an axe/axe and axe/joy build in the end so 8 axe 8 sword merits will be weapon setup (rather standard I assume?), but my question is what should I focus on buying first? Gear I am without but want that I guess would be viewed as "standard" good war gear: dusk hands and feet (LS mates have tried to tell me unicorn feet just aren't worth cost), fire bomblet, pcc, forager's mantle, brutal (16/75 current coin prices are 9-10k), and I'm also 11/20k toward amir feet.
I suppose my main question is this, is it more important to gear for accuracy first or buy up the haste gear? It seems when I ask about what gear to buy first I get varied answers. Keeping in mind that A) I make money slowly and therefor would like to get gear with most benefit first and B) This is a job for fun/meriting not exactly a LS event job as my main is BLM.
Thanks for any input.
Edit: made post before bed was too tired to list gear, maybe this will clarify better:
weapons: man/joy or woodville/man
ammo: bomb core
head: TP:turban WS: optical hat
neck: chiv chain
earrings: suppa/fowling
body: haubergeon
hands: TP: thick WS: pallas
rings: TP: woodsman/ulthalam WS: have str but keep acc on mostly
back: amemet+1
waist: TP: swift WS: warrior's stone
legs: Exorcist
feet: TP: thick WS: Creek Clomps
My accuracy at least on birds seem "ok" axe/axe but axe/joy it seems poor but merit wise i'm just 1/8 on sword not sure if that will level out after completed, but yeah figured a gear list would make sense.
I treat it like this; If you buy haste gear before ensuring your acc is good, you just miss a bit faster.

you might want to get a Bomb Core soonish, and then if you still lack acc trade up to a fire bomblet
if you are going to dual wield you might want to get sniper rings
pcc is great if you can afford it, chiv chain is decent substitute.
did you mean "Some don't like Manteel"? Minstrel's is r/ex, which Im sure you know. dunno about the "not having -spellcasting = gimp" statement, though. yeah, it helps. but it seems to be a luxury item. especially when minstrel's for skill+ and errant for Chr+ would both be utilized.Originally Posted by Baha
I don't even have BRD unlocked and I know minstrel's ring isn't R/E lol.Originally Posted by IncredibleGulk
He means the 'Minstrel Coat' - off the Sahagin im sure.
