Rings to idle in on RDM:
Right now I idle in Serket/Snow ring, is there a better choice given that I don't have Tamas or Balrahn's? Is a Trooper's ring worth it (-4 Enmity)?

I don't think the rings you idle in really matter unless you happen to have refresh on with full MP. I just leave the last rings I used to cast, on (often INT, sometimes MND).Originally Posted by Mudge

@wizerd
I'm not sure what caused SC to lost hate on you since I've never had that happen on me before. Where were you killing it? I'm not a big fan of sleeping the detector or whatnot, I usually just buff up, aggro the detector and start ranning up (+wlegs). When I'm getting close to the stairs that take you back to ru'aun gardens the detector will pop it's mob, if it's SC I just toss a nuke at the detector and kill it, otherwise I'll just zone and repeat.
Never had him lose hate on me when I'm killing him at the stairs, even with gravity. I usually just keep about 30' distance to it giving me enough space to kite it around the stairs a bit if bind happened to wear off too quikcly. Staying as close as possible with still being able to ourun -ga3s etc. is my rule of thumb.
Sorry, can't really give you straight answer to your questing of losing hate, only some guidelines of how I do it.
I couldn't find this in search:
Is the % reduction from magic defense bonus calculated before or after determining the damage taken from whether or not you (partially) resist a spell?
I've also never had any issues with de-aggro when actually killing it, only when trying to bring it from the bottom stairs to the top stairs on the pull. Really you should be casting on it often enough for it to not happen, maybe hate was just being glitchy for you or something. Also, try not to use Gravity unless it's an emergency, that should only be your 'ohshit Bind just missed' spell.Originally Posted by Wizerd
Before I'm fairly certain.
Hmmm. Just looked on the wiki and it shows that resist tiers are calculated before MDB is factored in. I assume this is true for when a mob casts a spell on a PC?
Resists are first, and a mob casting on a player seem to work more or less like player on mob.
Justice Torque or _____ Gorget for WS? (SAM)
Torque is going to add about 3-4 to your base D, 9~ Atk, and about 6~ Acc, Gorget will add 10~ Acc and .1 fTP...for most SAM WS' using a Hagun(possibly even without) on a decently geared SAM the .1 fTP will see slightly more damage.Originally Posted by Epical
What are good TP feet for a 66bst?
Anniversary Ring + BST pets.Originally Posted by Leeto

RSE feet depending on your race, and you get thick feet at 68 I think?
No, I'm saying recast is truncated. The first 1% of Haste reduces recast times by a full second, and you don't get any more improvement until you get enough to drop below the next second.Originally Posted by Wizerd
In my experience, singing a bard song with 1% Haste or 4% Haste both show me 0:23 recast for a second on the spell menu. If 4% Haste was giving me exactly 23.04 sec recast, I wouldn't even be able to see it show 0:23 before it ticked down to 0:22, but it shows 0:23 for a full second.
Tabin Boots +1, Luisant Sollerets or Leaping Boots. RSE depending on race.Originally Posted by Terravcota
What else do you cast on it besides Poison II, Bio II/III, and Bind? Poison and Bio are every 2 minutes, Bind when the last Bind wears off. But while it's bound and if Poison/Bio are fresh, you're standing away from it casting nothing, and that's when it was de-aggroing for me. No big deal if I was alone, but annoying and hard to deal with when you have an audience.Originally Posted by Callisto
It solely depends on where you stop on the stairs and somehow you must have been stopping in all the wrong spots. Sometimes it will lose hate when you turn a corner/etc, I usually stand where I can take 1-2 steps back to avoid a spell and then step back in range, so it is constantly trying to cast on me while bound. I've never had problems with it deagrroing much, other then original pull up to the top and I rarely, if ever, kill the Detector. (Almost always just deaggro it or zone if I can't)Originally Posted by Wizerd
Just try to stay around 20 distance from it or so and take a couple steps back when it casts. I usually bind them right at the corners so they have a clear sight to me as well.
Thanks Judai, that should help some, I'll try it out.Originally Posted by Judai
I know most mobs will start casting on you from around 24-25'ish, and the out of range distance is ~28' (I go to 29' just in case), but since pots have a larger center it's a little harder to judge. Maybe I'll try it out on some weaker pots first to judge the distance.

BLU can handle the same mobs, mostly, as a blm soloing that same level, but sch might have to fight mobs a level or two lower. If you're still below lv20, I'd try worms, there's some in the past near bastok? or the maze of shakhrami.Originally Posted by Leeto
