Signet makes them a lot easier to melee down (the <EM ones at least).

God damn it, I was hoping to never set foot in sky except for shits and giggles and TPburn kirin.

Is the 1 str really significantly better than 5mnd for heca over AF+1? I'd fairly obviously take whitebox heca over the AF, but that's not likely to happen.

If your acc isn't capped, don't overlook what a big chunk of acc amir feet are for that slot.

If it lets you trade out acc for str in other slots, it's a good thing.

Compare Sniper's ring + Rutter's vs Flame ring + Amir, just as an example.

orrrr... Potent + Rutters vs Warwolf + Amir, etc.

WHM second ring slot (currently tamas + serket)

after getting ixion cape (yes I'm using it on whm fulltime screw errant), my hp in idle is ~720ish and even lower when curing since I swap out seveneyes. yay for being taru. Serket ring and morgana's choker are the only other items lowering my hp at the moment. I'm thinking of dropping the serket.

The two suggestions I've had are troopers (used to use this, honestly it kinda screams mediocre to me) and serene (semi expensive). Are there any other ring options I'm overlooking?

How is that ring mediocre? For a ring slot it has a really high -enmity count, and you could always swap it out for an Aqua Ring when you cure, and swap it back in for idling with. Balrahn's ring is an alright choice, but granted not so good for WHM. If you like hanging around in yellow HP, then the cure potency ring works well.

Is the Hydra in Mamool T10 assault "special"? We tried it today and the PLD's Cover did not.. cover.. Orochi would still hit me or the RNG even though we were behind the PLD. :/

    edit: typo

Well, you don't need to idle in yellow HP, just be in yellow (well, <76% actually) when cast finishes. I swap in +HP gear during cure cast to activate Medicine Ring.

Wow a fellow from Wales - /wave from Cardiff if you're in Wales, UK.

I've always thought it meant what you can do with some of the CoP fights. People super tank a lot in CoP. One person goes in and aggroes a bunch of mobs without using abilities on the mobs and holds them. What this allows you to do is cure bomb that person without the healers pulling hate.

Some peeps use it just to talk about tanking multiple mobs at once I think.

Actually I know what you mean about troopers but it isn't and if you're losing -EMN from dropping your errant it would probably be helpful. Holy crap on your HP btw. Merit it ? I might invest in a serene but I doubt it.

Ixion cape I can see as being fantastic for a BLM, and of course its very nice for a WHM, just why when you're a low HP race do you want a convert piece with less -EMN on than errant. Macro it in for Cure V but I see Ixion cape more for BLM or BRD. Yes the MND boost is great but losing 20 HP, 10MP and -3EMN for 5 MND I don't think is worth it full time.

I'm a hume - my suggestion would be drop the serket for Troopers, merit HP and level SCH for a sub if you haven't already. /SCH gives me another 30-40 HP over /SMN for example and is far more useful.

In HH bomb, errant cape, nobles, blessed hands and trousers, Tamas, troopers, Dryad/staff strap, ajari, hierach's, blessed +1 feet/clogs, magnetic/loquacious earrings, walmart turban etc I'm slightly lower on MND than I'd like to be but I do have templar/num +1 if I really need it and other MND pieces to macro in. However I'm 1041 HP as 75 WHM/SCH and 1076 MP. If I need to I can send my MP to crazy levels with MP gear (zenith, blessed body, rostrums, rings, medal, necklace) to start with and then go back to standard gear. I do have 8 MP merits though.

My devotion macro gets me giving over 300 MP back to someone - I carry a lot of gear.

As a taru if you can hit 900 hp I'm sure life would get safer.

I'll bite on trying to answer this one.

Supertanking is the term for strategy in which knowledge of enmity rules are utilized in order to deal with multiple mobs. Basically the "supertank" can aggro multiple mobs and as long as no enmity is generated by the tank on any of the mobs (no attacks, debuffs, etc), curing that tank will also generate no enmity on the healers. This allows multiple healers to cure bomb a tank without generating any enmity on themselves while the mobs attacking the supertank can be pulled off one at a time. Typically Supertanks prefer to use /BLU for Cocoon and load up on DEF gear. Supertanks can be buffed by Phalanx, Minnes, etc to reach very high defense levels. Some of the more common fights I see supertanking in are the Divine Might quest and the CoP Mammet missions.

All mobs that attack multidirectionally (i.e., almost all high level HNMs like Cerb, Khim, Hydra, Wyrms, etc. where you normally stand on the feet) function oddly for Cover. If your tank is on the foot and you're directly behind the tank, Cover won't work because from the perspective of the monster, you're at an odd angle. You can still Cover in front of Wyrms and such but it takes a lot of practice and placement. Wyrms like to give a reach-around, so to speak.

Sorry, I had a few beers at lunch and that made me laugh hard.

Anyways...aside from making it skill-chainable, does Chain Affinity still make BLU spell stronger with no TP? Kinda iffy on how it works in general.

This is pretty much right. I believe it started being used in FFXI after the strategy was suggested for the CoP Mammet missions. It actually has much wider applications, but the basic idea is that as long as a mob is yellow and never turns red then they will never gain hate on anyone besides the player that originally aggroed the mob. I have in the past used this in Salvage to deal with Hammerblow's room, and in other select situations.

It can also be used more broadly to mean any fight where you have one tank for more than one mob and concentrate all healing on that one tank. Jailer of Prudence can be tanked in this manner.

    Mannequin REpurchase?

If you /toss a Mannequin, can you rebuy it from the NPC? In short, I'm looking to consolidate storage, and have all 8 mannequins currently. I don't want to drop one if I'll never be able to get it again (should I ever want to).

Tossed my 4 after the update, as well as sold 6 bookshelves....anyway, I'll check in a while and post back if it hasn't been answered yet.
