i registered my mob to get some jetton for cameras then i went to dump my plates and camera for a new one. i'd forgotten i'd tossed my camera at a salvage boss last night to make room for ea's doublet that dropped so when i went through my mechanical motion of "drop the last 2 brownish lookin items in your inventory" i pitched the plates i had left and...my reflector. i immediately realized what i'd done and kinda panicked worried i'd get locked out and have to waste my restore ticket on a stupid reflector. so i went back to the cage i'd registered at and saw my mob i'd just tossed still fighting. go fig. ^^ so after the fight ended, i spoke with the npc that registers your official reflector to fight (the one standing alone) and i got a prompt of "i lost my official reflector." when i selected it, it spoke of purging all of my records for the mob and i said w/e. he's gone, he sucked, pitch him and i'll make a new one to get 100 jetton a fight when it gets steamrolled. after doing that, i was able to get a new soul plate (got an ametrat from outside al zhabi. at least my infantile name of "tentacule monster" fits it better than on an evil weapon.) trade it and an ice xtal to the NPC for a new soul reflector, then convert it to a new pokeball...i mean official reflector. so no. long story short, you're not locked out, but you have to jump through about 10 hoops to get a new one and you'll never see your old mob again.Originally Posted by Hicks
now i just need to figure out a cool mob to replace my stupid malboro with. maybe a soulflayer? chariots work any good?
Thanks! Was kinda hoping Diamond's text would shed some light on wtf he's supposed to be (I know NQ overlord is a "decoy" and the Yagudo Avatar is like the second-in-command or something; I think a Mithra in Karugo explains it). Ja Ja's text confused me; are they asking why they're speaking "English/Vana'dielian"? Gurfurlur's is awesome ("And you is dead."), and Medusa's makes me think: Maybe those 2 unused tidal gates were intended for battles against her sisters. (Euyrale and Stheno based on mythology, as there is no other "gorgon" in the game, unless that's a collective term for Lamiae & Merrows.)Originally Posted by Rocl
just got the bodb's cuffs i needed to finish out my r/ex parts of the morg cuffs last night and i need bloodwood. there's virtually none on AH, so i'm looking for ways to farm some myself. long story short, are the drop rates on bloodwood in mire:
a.) bad
b.) really bad
c.) awful
d.) just camp the AH
It's basically equivalent to mining Khroma Ore, except you're doing it on trees. On the plus side, you can desynth Soulflayer Staves into Bloodwood, and that's why the price of it bombed.Originally Posted by Spekkio

mire has some easily accessible logging points though. i thought that wasn't true for mamook, with the points being guarded by truesound frogs and a host of other nasties. is that not right?Originally Posted by Jones
I've only logged twice, both in mamook, but the rate was definitely better than khroma in zhayolm. I'd say 1.5 or 2 per hour, both sessions were at least 2 or 3 hours
What are some good solo DRG merit camps? I'm really only aware of the sea puk camp at the entrance of mamool ja staging point. If it helps exclude tougher camps, I'm mostly unmerited on DRG except 4 Polearm 4 Crit 1 Angon 1 Deep Breathing

Mamook's points are all accessible without going up by the Poroggo, although I know Hundredfaced Hapool Ja is a True Sight NMs that can be up near a few logging points. Many of the points in Mamook you can also log "through the tree" so to speak. This allows you to stay hidden from mobs while still logging. The rate of 1-2 per hour sounds about right from my experiences as well. (Although I did get 5 in one 75 min session once.)
That and the Greater Colibri camp are the 2 best ones I'm aware of. Links are a big hazard though at Greater Colibri, but the exp is great and they aren't overly difficult.Originally Posted by Tempyst
You can also solo things in Sea. I've done T-VT Phuabo (bring Echo Drops), Xzomits & Goldfish. I don't bother with the Aerns since Petrification can result in death. I usually sub Whm for Paralyna (Goldfish) and Erase. Pretty decent exp and usually easy to find a camp (I tend to stay at Sea Lion's Den Portal or North Al'Taieu Holla side since the portal area has a nice camp area)
goldfish at west 8-1 tower all Om'hpemde(73~77) can be chained decently with some luck they're easy to solo exp but lack of seals sucks, there always NQ colibiri(DC they 71~73) in thickets, or puks in wajom(68~72) if you rather something less hard; sea puks and greater colibiri great exp solo but bit more risky.Originally Posted by Tomiko
are the mirror guardians true sight? i assume no, but i keep hearing people make different claims. are they just true sight in areas where other mobs are true sight perhaps?
I swear they were true-sight when they were first added, but I know at least for a while they've been regular aggro. I don't think the nearby mobs matter, they just changed them is all. I do think they still have some kind of downward-linked hate with the mirrors, though.
I think they are only true sight if that faction has the AC.Originally Posted by Spekkio
Yeah, I'm fairly certain when first introduced they were True Sight regardless of the location of the Astral Candescence. Nowadays, they're regular aggro. (I can't confirm nor deny that they are True Sight when the Beastmen are in posession of the Candescence though)Originally Posted by Suiram
At what point does Wyvern hp+ gear have to be equipped to get the bonus for healing breath?
Spell cast trigger (player casts poison)
OR
Wyvern readies breath (Wyvern readies healing breath III)
OR
Wyvern uses breath (Wyvern uses healing breath, player recovers xxx hp)
I tried a bit of testing with different wait times for my HB gear but didn't get consistent results.
Thanks.
^Spell cast trigger (player casts poison)
For a second I thought you meant the breath boosting stuff, and was going to jump in with a correction, but yeah that is right, you need the Wyvern + HP stuff on AND the wyvern healed to full as I recall, before trigger goes off.Originally Posted by Charismatic
I'm saying P.Legs all the time, because if that +6 r.acc for leg slot makes a difference, you can make up for it in other spots where you don't sacrifice the STR and 400,000 - 500,000 gil. I didn't have SAM leveled at the time I took RNG 70-75, so I can't tell you, but just out of personal preference out of the like 2 times I've merited on RNG, if I can't /SAM and use hasso, I'd rather just /nin. I'm lazy.Originally Posted by Ryushii
