Do I have to keep my signal/tactics pearl equipped while Fellow is called?

In trying to maximize my campaign exp/hr, I'm curious for longer campaigns if it's better to switch in tags every few mobs for new ones, or leave the same one the whole time. Any campaign vets care to share their thoughts?
Totally depends on your job.
Mages who can't soak a lot of damage are dependant on maxing their damage done/curing done counters, and that can be VERY hard.
(I am working off the sense that you can max out around 1k exp for damage done/dealt/cured, since I do a shitload of all three, and always notice that minus 150-300 or so for JA spamming/initial aggro, I get nicely divisible by 3 exp amounts; 1650~, 2350~, 1950~, and it slowly creeps upwards, getting slower as the battles drag on)
If you can't risk getting beat up, you're getting nearly a third less max exp than you could get, so you would definitely want to turn in tags after a couple of active waves where you cured a lot/nuked a lot, but little else.
Ok, a tad confused. LSmate pointed this out to me, Ballad and Ballad II do not appear to have the same range. Casting both in the exact same gear, with me and party member standing perfectly still...Ballad is hitting them, but Ballad II is not. Is that normal?
Anyone know how much Magic Defense Bonus Shadow Ring gives on Darksday?
Item says: On Darksdays: "Magic Defense Bonus"
Yes, me and a Brd bud were trying to see if Lamia harp really increases song range, and we were convinced it did.Originally Posted by Callisto

Ours did the total opposite, I would reach but II would not. I always use string for when I'm just Ballad whoring, but usually people are moving around, and I've never noticed this before.
What's a good cheap low lv rng food for the 20~37 range?

That is correct actually, I swapped them around by mistake, main thing I know about ballad is it enrages me being hit by it, cause I don't like having MP as War, and macro swap it all away.Originally Posted by Callisto

Personally, I would do it like this: Hecatomb Subligar when Berserk is down, Haidate if Berserk is up, Haidate for high eva always, and Warrior's cuisses + crit TP WS are for 2hr only.
Couple questions.
PLD with no access to valor breeches or homam cosciales at the moment, Adaman Cuisses or Gallant Leggings or something new and crazy and cool that I don't even know about?
MNK, Tiphia Sting or one of the other options? I know a lot of people like the +atk grenade, but it seems like accuracy would benefit you in more situations.
Of course the usual "shit is situational", but humor me.![]()
Iron Ram Hose is better than Valor breeches imo, technically free if you work for it as well. But if it were a case of Adaman OR Gallant Breeches I'd say Adaman, its what I used way back when, only adaman piece worth using the way I saw it.
Iron Ram Hose for PLD, and I'd use the Tiphia over the Grenade, but they're probably close enough to fall under the Personal Preference category.Originally Posted by escapen

totally forgot about the iron ram set, thanks for the suggestions!
+acc would benefit in more situation. But -eva -hp would not for many things i do, that made me switch to grenade. Purely a choice of preferences. (and actually using my sachet cuz bitch took me 18 tries to get and +2STR still not bad)Originally Posted by escapen
Black Tathlum yes plz![]()
As others have said, it's a matter of preference. Since I have too much crap already and I can't replace Rare/Ex items, I tend to opt for the Rare/Ex when a conundrum presents itself. 2 Accuracy is nice, but neither 2 Accuracy nor 2 Attack are going to make a noteworthy difference in any direction. -Evasion and -HP can be a bit of a nuisance, though, if you want to retain some kind of stopping power while out soloing or, let's say, tanking in Campaign. Of course, you could just as easily wear a Bibiki Seashell for that, so it's really just what you want to use.Originally Posted by escapen
If you can get a Black Tathlum, that's what I'd use no questions asked. I switched to Smart Grenade for the reasons mentioned. And in most cases, I'm probably eating Sushi anyway, so the extra attack can't hurt.
Is the only point of a Vulcan's Staff for a RNG that 1 extra STR? Just wondering why so many RNG use it when it you're spending an extra 400k for it.
