Not at all, just b/c 2handers were boosted doesn't mean DW was gimped, a well-geared Ridill WAR is still an absolute beast for meripo, though I think GA now performs a bit better vs. bigtime mobs.Originally Posted by Krye

Is it possible to request BLU AF? Guy in Lower Jeuno doesn't offer it and I'm wondering if it's located at a different NPC.
This intrigues me: Why?Originally Posted by Kainstryder
So I can store the set and request and acquire the body armor. +4 inventoryOriginally Posted by Akucaen
The rest of the set's pretty much garbage, but I don't want to toss it if it's not requestable...yet...especially if they're implementing AF+1 for BLU in the future.
When did they remove gigas from Xarcabard and Beaucedine Glacier?![]()

Many things are zergable with minimal DRKs. Some things are simply not zergable at all. You can go around with 18 crazy DRKs that meet the standards of "The Best" zergers and rape shit, but what's the fun in that?Originally Posted by Krye
The best NMs to zerg are the ones that would otherwise take 2-3hrs to kill. I HATE kiting Kirin and wasting a good 1.5-2hrs of my night when it can be done in 1-3min of zerging. Vrtra is a pain in the ass to kite around or straight tank while smns take it down from 100 -> 0. In my opinion Straight tanking tough HNMs like Vrtra show how strong your LS really is. Anyone can zerg a Vrtra with enough people, but it takes real skill to straight tank it for 2hrs
Some things like King Vinegarroon or Dynamis Lord are just too tough to NOT zerg, especially if you are crunching for time. But you still don't need 18 dark knights to pull off any of these. Hell you don't need a dark knight at all most of the time. I can attest for that in my LS.
Then there are the HNMs where it's seemingly impossible to zerg. Wyrms that fly are impossible to zerg. I have yet to see a Khimaira/Cerberus/Fafnir[Nidhogg]/King Behemoth/Aspidochelone be zerged. I don't think 18 dark knights and the essential support is going to defeat a lot of them, but who is to say they don't have 18 perfectly equipped drks to zerg and the best support to back them up?
Here is the abridged version if you did not feel like reading the above
You don't need 18 Dark Knights to bust through the possible zergable mobs in this game. It takes a lot of time to gear them, and takes even more time to prepare them for the zerg (As a few have already said).

Zerging is for fast kills, but don't show much skill, if any, to defeat mobs.
Anyone can kite, and it shows just as much skill (again, if any) as zerging.
Straight tanking tough HNMs shows true skill on both the tank's side and the support's side.
Pride or Greed is what drives people. Do you want to be remembered for zerging a Kirin any LS can do, or be one of the few LS's to straight tank some of the hardest HNMs only skilled LS's can handle?
Thought i did read once that peoples zerg Chlevnik. How different/strong is KB ? only fought once and obviously kitted it. Seemed easier than Chlevnik tho as the place is waaaaay smoother than in KS.Originally Posted by Jaybar
I can't imagine that would be possible, but maybe I'm wrong. The only 2 things I can see happeneing after BWSE is popped is Meteor wipes all your DDs, or AoE Stun hits right in the middle and destroys your damage. I certainly wouldn't test it if it were my 99 KS lolOriginally Posted by Silpha
I would imagine that a meleeburn KB would be pretty easy. Zerging would probably be a little too hard (you don't want to go all out on it due to AoE Stun - it lasts a while and can waste a good 10 seconds of Blood Weapon, Mighty Strikes, or Hundred Fists). Rather, it would be a better idea just to throw your melee at it and take it calmly but fast - make sure you have at least 2-4 WARs and 2-4 SAMs who are holding TP for Rampage and Gekko so that they can interrupt Meteor, plus other melee such as a THF for Feint and a DRG for Angon. Also, each party would definitely require a BRD and a WHM, plus you'd probably want outside WHMs in the event that Meteor doesn't get interrupted.Originally Posted by Silpha
If you've straight-tanked Jailer of Faith before, it would be much like that, except the mob has about 3-4x the HP and an AoE Stun. Definitely doable, but risky.
As for Aspidochelone, I've seen it die in 1 SC. Not sure if that counts as zerging, but it's pretty close. Fafnir can also be zerged with ease, since he has such little HP, but you can kill it in 3-5 minutes with 6-8 BLMs anyway so why bother?
I'm also sure that Cerb and Khim can be zerged with enough force. Cerb is easy to CS Stun, and Hoplon (hopefully) won't go off if you're CS Stunning. He has 75,000 HP and although he doesn't take as much damage as Vrtra does, he has 25,000 less HP and is MUCH less dangerous (at least, until it drops below 25% - he could be dangerous, at that point) so, if you can zerg Vrtra I don't see why you couldn't zerg Cerb.
Khim would be exactly the same as Cerb, except he takes more damage. The difference is, you've probably only got about 20 free Stuns - any more than that, and he'll start to resist. So if you're going to CS Stun him, it'd be better to have several RDM/DRKs just Chainspell and try to hit the TP moves rather than just spam the shit out of it, otherwise you'd get him to about 25% and he'd Fulmination or Dreadstorm your melee and stop you dead in your tracks. I think Khim could definitely be done with enough firepower, but you would require a lot of luck and stunners who don't lag at ALL. Definitely the most risky out of this list.
Uh this is gonna be stupid but for the pieces of eq that say enhances effect of rice balls do you need to keep them on after you use the rice balls too?
YesOriginally Posted by LinktheDeme

i think you can swap them out, but the enhanced effect is only active while the armor is equipped
