Furthermore, some people do 6man things.

I'm not sure what you're even arguing with on the other point. If you have 200 TP, and your friend that you can SC (perhaps even a lvl 3 with a mnk or something) with has 0, you will always do more dmg giving 100 to your friend and then SCing with them, than you will SCing off yourself. This is assuming a Hagun. Hagun WSes with Sekkanoki are garbage, lower than any other real DD job out there.
It's also extremely annoying and extremely unnecessary, especially if you have full parties for something like Einherjar where it would matter the most. It's ok for Salvage, but Blade Bash is also better than it in Salvage for things like Frogs, Gears, Bosses, anything that needs a stun and Virus can have a major effect. This is besides the fact that holding TP on any NM in Salvage is a bad idea. You shouldn't have 200TP at any point except for storing for NM's in Salvage anyway, but again that begs the question of it being better than Blade Bash for that same NM, which it likely wont be.

Suffice to say it didn't work so well.
He also spent more on items than you are likely to make on ODS 75% of the time. It's novelty at best. Still neat though.

with sam, as long as you've got your overwhelm upgrades at 5 and a six-hit setup you're pretty much free to do w/e you want with the rest of your merits.
Also, it depends on when they left, because they did upgrade bash effects so that they can actually stun most anything.

Personally, I'd unlock shiki (just the one point) for those times when it is helpful. - I put a point in ikishoten too, but that was for personal testing purposes and not because it's actually necessary for anything. what you do with that last 2-3 points really is up to the individual sam though I think.

I know some people who swear by shikikoyo too. (preferring to dump their tp to an SC partner over using Sekkanoki with hagun)

Levelling war, what should I sub?

I'm 29 atm and last night was subbing nin, it was ok but that party had 2 other wars subbing mnk and using greatswords with about 45% acc. I don't see any point subbing thf before getting SA and honestly atm can't see a point subbing it after 30 simply because I think I'd end up taking so much damage from my SAWS.

/drg is an option (acc bonus etc.)
    /mnk is an option
    /sam doesn't really make sense until 50
    /thf doesn't really make sense until 30
    /nin is the other option
/dnc could be fun after 30 (drain samba and curing waltz) if you're looking for some extra healing. gives access to a flash-like effect at 40.

personally I used /mnk until 20 and then /nin to 37. if I had it to do over I'd probably use /mnk to at least 24 now that gaxes are buffed. (if not higher)

/drg is pretty nice 30-50. You don't get acc bonus until 60, but you do get Haste+5% earring and the only ATK+ back piece until Jaguar. Also, JUUUUUUUUUMPU

WAR/DRG is an absolute monster during those levels, I wouldn't recommend any other subjob.

Who said anything about Salvage NMs? Salvage NMs aren't particularly difficult. If anything, using an extra ability to shave time off your clear would be the point of Shiki. Imp Amnesias right after you hit meditate and you end up hitting 300 tp? Sekka a WS, Shikki extra TP to someone else that just WSed, then use the last 100 yourself. It is more damage for your group than the alternative.
Want to help the person who is supposed to be the tank get better hate after a Brainjack? Toss them 100 TP.
Weakened/Don't have a HP cell and you're fighting gears? Give someone else TP to WS.
Doing Zhayolm and you're not one of the big3? Save up to 200 just to toss that mnk that is a full WS instead of using it yourself. I guarantee you with 0 gear cells will do less dmg than that mnk.
I've used it constantly without even having to switch groups for limbus/einherjar...is it necessary? Of course not, but it improves your group's chances slightly. Using an Amemet+1 over an Amemet sightly improves your chances also, in no way is it necessary though.
As for giving a paladin mp...I guess it's a slight annoyance to switch groups, but there are many times it's nice (I've used it lowmanning sky gods/pop NMs [Faust comes to mind as a good one to use it on] and on multiple ZNMs.

Don't get me wrong, meriting Blade Bash past 1 point is good. But you're talking about dropping a little more time off it vs an ability that has all sorts of uses.

Little things do add up, and people regularly succeed/fail in Einherjar and other events by a matter of seconds.

5 min timer vs 15 minute timer is huge differences, that being able to use a lot in salvage vs like 5 times, personally I found shiki a waste my play style left me using maybe once every few days, where I use blade bash far more regular, sure sekkanoki > ws > shiki > ws might be slightly more damage, but I'd rather have the skillchain for damage, also idk what kinda salvage group you go with, but generally depending I get same ish gear priority as mnks do, since YGK slaughter thru mobs at lower floors.

Is it possible for a DRK or PLD with Crimson Cuisses to solo kite KV? If so is there a specific kite strategy?

We're discussing 7.5minutes vs 5 minutes, at best. Please don't compare a 15min timer vs a 5min timer as that has -0- relevance to this discussion.

As for Salvage, sometimes I tank, sometimes I let others tank, we switch it up. If you actually read my comment however, I even specifically mentioned Zhayolm, I don't know how you do Salvage, but I prefer to actually pop an NM that drops 35s, so we usually fully unlock 3 players and don't spend a lot of time farming extra cells for everyone else. I was specifically referring to this. Arrapago and SSR you could quite easily end up with less gear than tanks (unless your "sameish gear priority" actually means you roll against a tank and take the cell before them, which has other problems I won't get into), and thus do less damage with a weaponskill.

In the end, I'm done with this topic...it takes a bit more creativity and skill perhaps to make use of Shiki, but personally, I think using Blade Bash on cooldown is rather wasteful. It is -nice- to be able to use it more often, I fully support putting 4/5 into it for a 7.5min cooldown so you can use it more often, but I think you are shortchanging the Samurai job to ignore the many uses Shiki has. Bring a DRK and your stuns as a Samurai won't even be noticed.

I've held him before while people gathered and built the ally as drk/nin before w/ crimson legs. Requires taking advantage of pathing though to get him 'pinned,' and while it's a shitton easier with gravity on, you can maneuver him to where he'll be stuck trying to take the longest way to get to you. With the bushes in the SE corner of his little nook between the two of you, just run a few steps to one side, he'll turn around, run a few steps to the other way, he'll turn around again.
Rinse and repeat, stunning and running for distance/recasting when you need (draw-in can suck if he catches you with it).

So uh, is Usukane body useful at all if you have Askar Korazin?

In what situation could it be the top performing body piece for MNK/SAM/NIN?

for sam I'd say it's better when your acc isn't capping out, which probably most of the time you aren't getting a madrigal, or hunter's roll, for mnk it's best if your using meat, if sushi togi is probably better, and for ninja I am not sure.

It depends on what you use it for. Are you going to be meriting on these or using them on HNMs? Then 6 in the weapon skill then max crits. Then full triple attack, 1 feint 1 aura steal. Feint higher priority if you're going to use thf on HNM.

If you're mostly farming/doing easier NMs then triple attack, feint, aura steal.
