300 x 1 + exp bonus w/e it is, there's no cap
Que Imp chain 5 kill with anni ring (I think it was like 1024 or something I forget though)

I'm not 100%, but from seeing Bow in action, he doesn't seem to pull much hate with Namas spam. But when he uses Sidewinder instead the mob is usually turned to him right after.Originally Posted by Krye
The action of actually using namas arrow gives you hate, but the damage dealt by the ws does not. As for coronach I have no idea.
My understanding is that the max possible exp in this scenario would be 1282. The Exp bonuses seem to multiply with each other, rather than it actually being 1 + total bonus. That is to say, you'd calculate each bonus separately, and use the new number for the next calculation. Because it's multiplication, you can do it in any order:Originally Posted by Gergall
300 Exp Base
300 * 1.5 for Exp chain 5 = 450
450 * 1.15 for Sanction = 517
517 * 2.00 for Anniversary Band = 1034 <- This is what you see in a lot of screenshots, I do believe.
1034 * 1.24 for Corsair's Roll (11) = 1282 <- Theoretical maximum possible Exp in a single kill.
Whereas if the bonuses were cumulatively added before calculating with the base, the bonus multiplier would either be 2.89 (if you consider chain in this part) or 2.39 (if you consider chain separately). Respectively, these would give you Exp values of 867 and 1075. Even the latter is too small considering we've seen 1000+ by solo BLMs without using a COR.
So 1282 is your max Exp, 1283 if the decimal is carried.
Why doesn't sigil and sanction refresh work all the time?![]()
Both refresh bonus work when your MP is below or equal to 75% IIRC.
Thank you Wizerd for the info. How do people suggest I achieve this? Would my proposed solution work?
Are you quite certain that the game remembers the max party size? I've had goblin suicide bombs take out 3-4 party members, and the 2-3 survivors got crazy high XP. Disbanding would have the same effect.Originally Posted by Mosh
easy to test. go out with a friend to tiny mandragoras. you come on a higher lvl job, he on a lvl 1 job. cast dia, zone, and have your friend finish off the mob. see if you get xp. i'll be quite shocked if you do.Originally Posted by Gergall
his question is on party size not party level.Originally Posted by Spekkio
to test it could have two people both go out on level 1 jobs, sub rdm and find a lvl 1 mob. both cast dia on it then disband. finish it off and see if you get 100 or not
Sanction Refresh depends on how long the candescence has been in Al Zahbi, and at its best goes up to 85%.Originally Posted by Tajin
Am I 100% positive? No. Am I fairly sure? Yes. Using that theory though, it's even easier to test. Go find a mob and have a 75NIN hit it, then mijin it. Then have someone lower level, and in the same pt, finish it off.Originally Posted by Gergall
See if the exp:
A) Figures in a party
B) Figures in the levels
And sigil starts at 50%, then goes up by 5% for the next 3 ribbon levels, ending at 65% for the 4th ribbon and then doesn't go up any further, at least for any of the currently-available medals.Originally Posted by Ferien
coronach is same as namas.Originally Posted by Leeto

get a party, go to mamool staging point
kill a bunch of stuff to get to at least chain 5
disband
quickly solo a mamool's wyvern. they can usually be oneshotted with rampage or any other good WS. dont claim it or agro the mamool before disbanding though.
maybe even a puk, with some outside healing (and maybe a 2h).
Show off time!

But anyway, if you could get an 11 on a corsair's roll, and got a chain5 on a mob that gives an exp bonus, the max would probably be well over 1100 (maybe even over 1200).
Anniversary Ring? Or is that already in effect at this point
Holy shit, that's a lot of exp for one kill.
Already in effect. Only other things that could boost exp past that are corsair's roll, and a mob type that gives bonus exp.Originally Posted by Rocl
I'm not entirely surprised. Technically +1str should mean the same as +1vit because they're both equal mod, but my scientific brain doesn't like that and thinks for some reason things work best if you balance them out. As for situations... err, depending on mob food and brd, the +attk might be covering more for you on the relic hands. I usually use the blue boxing mitts, but it's my gut speaking.Originally Posted by Chupunpupun
If you're SAing though, mathematically speaking, I have no idea why 1+1 wouldn't = 2 unless there's something in the formulas that tries to play toward balance. Odds are any given WAR has plenty of +STR equipped already anyway, so obscene +STR might be approaching a cap of some sort in the dmg calculations (meaning, the STR portion is worked out on one side and would have its own cap, and the VIT on the other side, then added?)... meaning you'd want the +VIT more since it would be a bigger % jump of the stat modifier? Hell if I know. It would also depend on the mob level and defense, etc. I'd assume.
Non-SA... It's harder to hit a maxed-out line, so I can picture just loading STR would be sufficient.
Just my thoughts-- SC in a merit PT is bad to me though since whiffing a WS makes me want to cut myself. If you're /sam, in my experience RR spam is pretty much equal to SC spam (perdu vs martial) in avg dmg per ws. I've been having an longstanding argument with my ls leader about RR voulge vs SC bhuj spam in merit, though with my setup I can't ever imagine switching to SC spam... the only time I ever parsed that out as being better was the pre-nerf 2-handed change when the calculation was twisted. This is kinda like the classic axe/axe vs axe/joy debate in that with skilled people, there's really very little difference if you play things out well.
RR will tend to do better average, get fewer total whiffs, and can get multiple doubles, SC can get one double, and is best at 200 TP (with Mbhuj).
Str doesn't just count for the mod, it also counts when the actual weapon hits the mob (fStr) and it gives Attack.
This is why I use Kabuto instead of a 3 Str head (Sipahi) or 4 Str (Uni head), and will until I get like, a Nhead.
I do notice weird things though with crits, did a kirin burn starting with my Fort Axe on, so my initial WS didn't get me raped, I usually do 1800-2k on my opening SC with Mbhuj, and with a Dmg 64 Fort I did a 1950... Vit +7 ftw? lol
