Having your MP drained from Vampiric Lash can be really bad too, so meds are needed. It can take anywhere from 20 to over 350 MP (very random). It can take TP instead though, so it's all luck here.
Yea, but I only used it three times or so. I held my first batch of TP @300% for a Chivalry (it can drain MP), but that wasn't until like 40%. Better to be safe than sorry though. I only got a 720 once, the other times were in the 500s.
Returning to game after 3 moths or so, quit just after the update that expanded Cat.2 merits and implemented Ixion.
Can check update notes on BG Wiki, but is there any place that I can check gear added other than sifting through .dat mining threads?
I think so. I took a lot of 0s with just Phalanx up so over time that really reduces her TP a significant amount. I am unsure whether not having one or the other makes or breaks the fight. can PM me for more details, don't wanna stuff this thread up. I'll make a blog post about it sometime soon too.
Have rage timers been established for ZNM mobs yet? I've seen a few post here and there indicating 1hr or so but a definite answer would be best. Need to know for specific ZNM, namely Gotoh Zha the Redolent and Armed Gears, that are not all that tough but can take up to an hour+ for a group of 6-8 to kill
i know it has been 3*1.05 for max crit for all weapons for a while i dont know if the cap applies to non crits tooI suspect that the pDIF graph remains the same as before, just with the extra 1.0-1.05 factor to mess with us and mask the 1.0 pDIF mode behavior so testing is harder. But I suppose it might still be that the level correction function is different for 2h weapons, so you get a higher cRatio for the same attack/defense.
Gotoh raged at about 1.5hrs so it maybe 1.5 for all of themHave rage timers been established for ZNM mobs yet? Two hander Pdif graph is not even CLOSE to x1.05 the old one. For example, the capped cratio Pdif is 1.9-2.7, and I've even seen crits for less than 3.0.
The old pdif graph had crits at max cratio as 2.6-3.0, so that's perfectly consistent with seeing crits less than 3.0 now.
If capped cratio pdif is 1.9-2.7 now, perhaps cratio caps at 2.25 now rather than 2? But those are just adding 0.3 to the old caps, which wouldn't fit with the 1-1.05x theory; it ought to be 1.9-2.835.
The 1-1.05x theory definitely applies to pet damage, which was previously always 4.0 pDIF on level 0 mobs, and is now 4-4.2 pDIF.
Maybe this should get a separate topic so it doesn't fill up Randomer...
Anyone ever tanked Ixion with NIN or RDM? We only ever use PLD and I only ever see other people using PLD, would be damn hard but nice to see done.
How much Store TP is needed for an Amano SAM to get a six-hit with full STP merits, the Kaiten Aftermath, and including the TP from a landed Kaiten?
I think I just answered my own question.
If an Amanomurakumo has a base TP per hit of 11.1, and a SAM's native Store TP trait of +25 bumps that up to 13.6, and full Store TP merits bump that up to 14.6, and Kaiten's aftermath bumps that up to 15.3, and finally assuming the use of at least Brutal and Rajas on WS, we're left with 15.9 TP from Kaiten itself.
That leaves 84.1 TP left to get through in five hits, meaning one must get at least 16.9 TP per melee swing to reach 100 if five hits. Therefore, one needs 10 more Store TP on top of Rajas and Brutal.
Any errors?
11.1 per hit, means a total of 51 store TP for a true 6 hit (16.7/11.1=1.504) which, isn't what you got (since you counted aftermath earlier then confused yourself out of it.)
anyway. aftermath is store tp+7 @ 30 seconds, with 45% haste (19% gear, 15% spell, 11% march II) your net delay is about 241. so you'll swing every 4 seconds or so.
in 30 seconds you'll swing 7 times, allowing you up to two misses before aftermath wears. so we can assume 100% aftermath if you spam kaiten.
this means that you need 51-7=44 total store TP in merits/traits/gear -> 9 total store TP in gear. so 3 more after rajas and brutal. pretty much every piece of gear you would consider wearing for store TP will give you enough. (the best piece to pick in this situation would be usukane sune-ate; which should give you enough store TP to ws in whatever you like beyond trait+rajas).
if you ignore aftermath, you need 51. the easiest way to get this is going to be: 35+5(rajas)+9(hachi kote+1)+1(brutal)+1(chiv chain) but if you have access to askar or usukane, there are stronger setups. (35+5rajas+13usubody/feet is 53 for instance.)
I'm sorry, I just don't understand how my math is wrong. Point it out more specifically?
What I'm asking for here is not a six-hit build from 0%, but rather a five-hit from Kaiten.
The things I'm assuming are Aftermath up 100% of the time, full Store TP merits, and Rajas + Brutal on Kaiten. This gives, unless this is where I'm mistaken, a 15.9 (11.1 [base TP/hit] + 2.5 [native Store TP] + 1 [merited Store TP] + .7 [Kaiten Aftermath] + .6 [Rajas/Brutal]) TP return on Kaiten. Subtracting 15.9 from 100 leaves 84.1 to go. 84.1/5 = 16.82, meaning we need a 16.9 TP return on melee swings, unless I'm mistaken.
I don't understand how that is incorrect, after doing the math all over again.
yeah, you're failing basic store TP basically.
store TP is all added up, and then multiplied by the base, so if you have say. 35 store TP, you get floor(1.35*base) TP per hit, not base+floor(.25*base)+floor(.1*base).
and kaiten is a single hit, so unless you WS in different store TP or after the aftermath drops (which I kind of addressed) it's no different than a single hit.
that's what true-6 hit means, 5hits+ws. as opposed to 6hits+ws...
