I'm pretty sure Sable Cuisses and Gloom Breastplate have the exact same effect, so I believe you'd be right to stick with Adaberk.

while i won't claim to be a drk, isn't adaberk kinda missing the goal in building a souleater zerg build? str, dex, acc, and attack improve the damage your weapon does per swing, but if you're using any of the standard issue zerg tools (kclub, b zag(tab), rune chopper, or m. kris) you're not really concerned with the crappy damage the weapon itself is doing, and with feint on, you're going to be hard pressed to miss much. as i understand it, the goals should be in order:
a.) max out gear haste, especially in the case of rune chopper
b.) get either gloom body or sable legs on
c.) stack as much HP gear on yourself as physically possible.
if it doesn't go towards one of those, you're not maximizing your damage b/c se zerg's damage comes not from the pitiful 10 damage the kclub swing would do, but the hundreds of damage you pull off souleater. i think it largely depends too on what zerg weapon you're using. as you say you're new to the zerg thing, i'd assume you have a chopper. barring having homam pants, you'll probably have to wear the following for haste:
    9: chopper
    5: turban
3: dusk/homam (4 if you get HQ dusk)
    1: blitz ring
4: swift belt (6 if your crazy ass has a speed belt)
3: homam feet or +1 dusk feet
for exactly 25 haste. if you can come up with the +1 hands, that would make life a lot nicer b/c you can swap in an HP ring for the blitz.
having covered haste, plug sables into legs, and use homam body for your body slot. not only does it lend HP for souleater, but it also gives a 2.5%(or was it 3%) chance at a triple attack, roughly increasing your swings by 5% (6%?). fill other slots with HP such as bq ring, pcc for neck if you're finding your acc a little lackluster (though i doubt you'll have much trouble) and tack on HP food for good measure. gigant mantle for back, etc, and you should be good to go.

i think all of what i've written above is correct. again, i'm not a drk, but i have done a fair sum of reading and math on it. please correct me if my figures and assertions are wrong.

I completely forgot about Feint when I was thinking about that, great point. I guess another question, I know that Sable/Gloom give the same % boost, but do they stack?

no you can only use one piece of sable/gloom/af+1, none of them stack with each other

and rune chopper base damage is nothing to laugh at

they do not. otherwise a kclub drk would likely drop the turban for af head too resulting in 16% increase on souleater. pick 1 piece and fill the other slots with haste and hp. the reason gloom's so popular is b/c the homam piece there gives triple attack and hp, not haste and hp. as such, it borks with a kclub proc b/c a trip attack proc will bar octave from trying to proc. meanwhile, you have yummy homam cosicles which offer haste and HP, the complete package. the af head is obviously out since w turban offers a colossal 5 haste and 30 hp. now, if you're using a rune chopper, that math changes since you don't need a multi-hit to proc, and your triples suddenly become very good and you're not so desperate for haste gear b/c the chopper coughs up a titanic 9% haste. in that scenario and that scenario only, the sable pants will outperform the gloom. while it may seem a corner case, the chopper is available on the AH and homam, while not exactly EASY to amass in bulk, is much easier to get than a kclub or, depending on your situation, a b zag(tab), this situation comes up a lot, which is why sables actually enjoy some sales. i ran a more complete rundown on sable vs gloom in another thread a while back. just search for it and you'll find it. i think the topic was originally about double attack grip vs sword strap for a rune chopper if that helps any.

w/ regard to capo, i totally agree that it's a significant boost. not only does it do some damage, but that damage feeds blood weapon, allowing a drk to heal himself rather than just staying functionally HP neutral from the zerg setup. still, it's really the souleater where it shines, no?

mnk/nin tank + any two support/healers works too (typically whm+rdm with one dual boxed, but I would expect whm+bard or rdm+brd would work too) just take it slow.

well im not a drk either, just speaking from what ive seen friends use, but when you have an 88 dmg weapon swinging that fast, combined with probably carbonara(what i see apoc drk using) attack bonus and natural drk attack bonus, even when you are geared for max haste and hp that damage is going to add up pretty fast. i think thats the reason it can come close or maybe beat kclub depending on what you are fighting of course. if the things defense has been raped by angon etc then the axe hits alone are going to be doing crazy damage

Done it with NIN/DNC and BRD/WHM...only the Ul' though, so whatever the (not-100%) drop rate is on them.

Om' I've done with maybe around a party with like NIN RDM BLM BLM BLM BLM. Harder fight, but 100% drop.

It's basically making fun of bandwagon SAMs(also known as Wal-Mart SAMs) who sport the cheap Hachiman Domaru like it's a fantastic piece of gear, while the old standard Haubergeon is for the most a much better piece in every facet. Not that it's a sin to not be able to afford a Hauby right off if it's your first job and you're working towards it, but many seem to act like their Hachiman Domaru is like Relic+2, in which case they're a tad fucktarded.
it's older than the bandwagon sams (although the resurgence of them recently had alot to do with it becoming more popular); and has little to do with not being able to afford a haubergeon (jujitsu gi is a better piece for tp'ing in, for god's sake, let alone the new jaridah peti's) than it does with the fact that it's a crap piece that any samurai worth their sword shouldn't get caught dead TP'ing in. (ws'ing in is another story - while haub is still better, the domaru isn't *bad* for ws)

even if you're poorer than dirt there's no reason to use a hachiman to TP in.

All that comes to mind for me are the 69 SAMs in AF Body that say 'Don't worry, I'm about to ding into better gear' when they join your party. I'm not sure if I've actually seen this 1.3 million times, or if it's just severe Deja Vu procs when I do see it.

Not to mention that according to current Bahamut prices, Haubergeon goes for 370,000 gil, Hachiman Domaru goes for 100,000 gil. Haubergeon isn't even close to expensive anymore. (My first one was 5 million, and that was before hyper-inflation.)

    Did 4 Ul's with Ninx2 Smn/Whm, War/Dnc.

I built TP off mobs in the area and just healed from way out of range. No drops.

    Kill Om's if you can.

you can kill om's with one or two blms and a puller if you use the AV wall trick, obviously more blms and a refresher would speed it up. im not sure if its against the TOS though <.<

    Re: Randomer Question Thread

Well I'm having some trouble looking for my handy little program that calculates storetp for me so i'd like to start debating.
    This is for my thf.
I got some Skadi chausses with storetp +& which combined with my Rajas and other gear gives storetp+14.
Now the main question concerns food choices.
would it be a good idea to eat carbonara?
last time I parsed to test out which food I should use I found that meat and sushi did nearly equal damage for me but the lowered accuracy gave me less hate with meat and forced others in the pt to tank more often as opposed to me grabbing some hate and blinking it away hence sushi was a better/cheaper choice along with it costing less gil to do the same damage(using sole and bison steak as foods during the test for 1 hour each).

Now the main thing I want to know is if carbonara would be viable for my thf. I can still get more acc gear when homam drops or when i get some luck in a bcnm or two to make the meat not sting my accuracy as much so this is kind of me looking towards the future if I have to choose between hedgehog pie and carbonara someday.
Would I have to lose 10 atk by not swapping in dusk trousers during sneak attack and trick attack to make it viable or could I keep them on to maintain the whatever# hit build?
My atk is 481 during the tp phase with no food, and during SA and TA my atk is 415ish(in case of diminishing returns and all that crap)

I'm not a RNG but i always see people with them, and yes i'm pretty sure you can purchase others but its like 2x as much and you have to be ahead in conquest i think.
