they can be absorbed by shadow, and if melees are not /NIN on T3, they fail
I'd go with anything to avoid Voidsong going off so it sounds good to me to just eat body slams over Voidsong spam. Thanks for the replies guys.
Also, what do your BLUs do exactly for those that use them? Sleeps from BLU have a rather small range in my experience. Also, do they spam Headbutt for stun (is that effective?) and how useful is -25% DEF from Frightful Roar? Any other useful moves?
firstly, roar is -10%.
usually my LS uses one blu who pulls and supertanks everything. he has over -40% physical damage reduction thanks to HQ darksteel gear. when i am on scholar(cause i dont see the point in bringing a second blue mage to einherjar) i am the one who usually keeps the mobs gravitied and bound, but when they wake up he's quick to follow up with temporal shift and a sheep song / soporific.
Wow so you pretty much do crowd control with just a BLU and SCH? I think this would really help keep BRDs safe since I feel like they get into trouble spamming lullaby needlessly sometimes. So you don't bother with Roar in this? -10% sounds much more underwhelming than -25% =/
Also, I know there is some info about Einherjar T3 bosses here but I just couldn't get anything specific... Can you guys give me any pointers for them? This is what I pretty much know with limited experience...
Vampire - CS stun gank and hope you kill in under 2 minutes before it splits
Cerb - Gank, stun gates last 25% (it is just last 25% right?)
Khim - Gank, stun Fulm last 40% (again, it is just last 40%?). Also, a lot of groups say this is actually a harder boss but it sounds easy... I've never actually gotten it.
KB - I read it was ~100 actions per meteor use, but that it can only meteor every 30 seconds. So ideally, you're ganking and eating a meteor every 30 seconds and curing immediately after? I know the meteor wasn't strong enough to 1 shot anyone. Any tips for this though?
Goatchair - Kill the BLM demons first, have 1 guy hold the boss. What job do you usually use to hold the boss though? Also, I know it wakes up the demons after drawn in hellclap, but I heard if you move it far away from the demons, it won't wake them when it does this? Also, just generally do you have any tips for doing this like controlling the demons?
Hydra - Gank but since you can't stun and it can use physical immune, how do you prevent it from just eating up time? Last run we got this and it stalled out so much we timed out because of phy shield... any tips on this or is this just luck?
Thanks!
We have our RDMs/BLMs/BRDs toss out sleeps when they wake up. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that he and I were the only ones that handled the mobs, lol. I was trying to say that when the mobs wake up, he will follow up with a AoE stun and his own sleep(if need be). Temporal Shift is really nice because it keeps the mobs all together in one spot; having a Scholar there usually makes managing the mobs extremely easy.
edit: We don't have a lot of people for T3 currently, so every extra bit of damage helps. -10% is better than 0%.
Just need a little verification here.
War/Sam, TP with +7 store TP (rajas, brutal & chiv), what is the minimum TP return after RR needed in order to resume a 5 hit after WS? I was always under the presumtion it was 17% but can someone please clarify, thanks.
Edit: Just to be a little more clear this is while using Perdu Voulge (504 delay).
If by 5 hit you are meaning a true six hit, then it is the same as every other hit in a six hit, or 16.7TP return.
I understand that but in FFXI TP is not shown as a decimal value, so if my return were to show 16% in FFXI then is it actually the needed 16.7? or is it 17% thats shown when you get 16.7 on your return in game.
Usually we have PLD WHM RDM hold the boss - it's hard for one person to keep its attention since it has weird hate patterns and will periodically warp back towards the rest of the group holding demons and target someone there. Also he's hardly a complete wimp, so one person is going to have a hell of a time staying alive whilst being Stunned and Terrorized constantly.
you're right, it's not shown as a decimal value; it is however calculated to the first significant digit. so you need 16.7
you have to do the math to find out what your exact tp return is.
it's floor(BaseTP*1.xx, 1) where xx is your store TP amount.
for a 75 samurai wielding a hagun with 46 store TP, this is 11.5*1.46 = 16.79, floored = 16.7.
to quickly figure out how much store TP you need for a given setup, take 16.7(six hits) and divide by your base TP gain, round up to the hundredths.
for instance, the same sam, take 16.7/11.5 and gets 1.45217.. rounded up to 1.46, he needs 46 store TP to get a 6 hit setup.
for a five hit setup he'd need 20TP per hit, or 20/11.5 = 1.739.. = 74 store TP. this is why you don't see many samurai sporting 5 hit setups with regular weapons.
also, make sure to remind your blus to not use stun additional effect spells like headbutt if you come up with something that builds resistance. i've had a khim i couldn't stun because some people have listening problems. oh, and vamp boss is nearly a gimmie. even if he splits, he reforms fast enough and you can pummel his split forms to have him repop at as low as 1% we've done once.
The Dvergr is pretty easy to hold, the hardest part by far is keeping the demons asleep and under control until most are dead. The last time we got him we hadn't prepared for it and we didn't have any proper tank jobs in the chamber or anyone assigned in advance to kite it. So we sent a feather mule in as a sacrifice to gather the demons, a BLM slept them, and I tagged the dvergr and we held it in another corner of the room BLM/WHM + RDM/DRK.
A BRD came over and helped out a couple times to make sure we were okay. Every so often he'd warp towards the alliance and draw-in myself or the RDM. About 2/3 of the way through the RDM died that way (he got draw-in, stun, and nuked iirc and I didn't get over fast enough to cure him and get hate), and the BRD and I held him the rest of the time. He runs moves slowly and casts and uses TP a lot, I think I got physically meleed by him a total of 3 times in that encounter (once for 0 because of stoneskin, twice for 200-300). The times we've lost to this boss it has been because of poor demon management, the dude himself is not really difficult to manage.
Would a Shogun Rice ball build work for mnk?
Roshi Jinpachi (hat) enhances rice balls
Nobushi Kyahan (feet) acc+4 store tp+4 enhances rice balls
So with shogun rice balls a mnk would get 100 atk, 60 def, 10% double attack, and still have 17% haste from BB+ Kitty pants. Seeing as how double attack is really good for mnk, I'm thinking 10% DA > 8% haste. Would require a build that would support meat for sure, but assuming that part would it be good? better than standard haste build?
kind of in reverse, but uh; silencing ziz'
We'll say its a typical brd rdm pt. Haste and march/minuet
Spoiler: show
Does it really work on MNK with them items? I thought it was only SAM.
I've been searching but can't seem to find it.
Can anyone give me the accuracy needed to cap at 95% at Greater Colibri?
Thank you.
