I'm trying to find a better homepoint (currently Whitegate Moghouse) because HPing then warping into Whitegate on weekends on Odin is a deathtrap.

I'm also trying to think of a way to get to the 3 main areas - nation of choice, Jeuno, and Whitegate all without using Imperial Silverpieces. I carry a stack in my inventory but I figure if I could work out a system to get to all 3 easily, I can save an inventory slot.

Any ideas on where to set HP? I'm currently thinking of HPing in Jeuno since new wildcat quest will come out December, but then how do you quickly get to nation of choice? Same thing if you were to HP in nation of origin.

I haven't left Bastok since I got the Saruta and Ronf OPs. Can OP anywhere, NPC to Whitegate, and either Airship, Qufim OP, or NPC>Silver Taru to Jeuno. Granted, if you don't have all of the outposts, you're SOL and your best bet is probably Jeuno.

1/12 on T3 synths made me lol that day.

Where to solo 31-37 DNC? I did 30-31 on Mandys in Rolanberry [S]. DNC is no DRG, so kills were a bit slow, so I'm looking for any alternative camps that would be more DNC friendly (i.e. piercing and weak as shit)

Home nation (South Sandy) without a doubt for me. I have all OP's except bastok (like it matters), whitegate NPC is close and it only takes less than a minute to run over a buy a silverpiece with IS for the warp taru when you need to quickly get to Jeuno so you don't need inv-1 carrying silverpieces. When you dont need to get to Jeuno quickly, old fashioned airship is still available. Otherwise you can be a cheap ass and use the free warp guy in al zahabi and walk a short distance to Jeuno.

Bastok is the only place that sucks to get too, I think tele-altep, choco to korokola tunnel, escape to mines is the fastest, but still sucks. Although if you just need to get to the bc, easy to tele-dem, choco to gusgen > movopolos, escape to gustaberg.

I guess that's just me, but I don't see why anyone would ever set homepoint other than home nation.

Yeah, I'm kicking myself for not getting the Gusta outpost when Sandy had control.

I used to keep my HP in windy for cooking and I would have to run all over for ingredients. So I did the warp to WG for windy. And I would do the following depending on where I'm going.

For bastok either xcarbard and op to bastok or whm/blm and teleport altep and escape in the tunnels.

Sandy I would retrace and go to the past west ronf and run to maw then enter the present.

For jeuno I would have a mule there but I could also go to bastok and op to qufim or take the airship.

For times I only needed jeuno AH and not anything else from there I would use my tav ring or teleport holla and run thru sea to the safehold.

You could also set your hp at sandy and retrace your way to windy. Maw is right by entrance but idk if you got blm lved so it could be difficult getting around.

    Thanks for the replies.

Right now, I'm thinking of HPing in Jeuno once patch hits and Wildcat quest hits Upper Jeuno so I can do Whitegate <> Jeuno. I check Bazaars a lot so I'd prefer to have really easy access to Jeuno.

I main BLM most of the time so I pretty much always have access to Warp and Retrace; not so much teleport spells unless I change jobs. I hometown Windurst and past Sandy.

I'm thinking maybe I should do both Windurst and to get to present home, Retrace and use Maw near Port Windurst? My main issue is the fastest way to Port Windurst Teleport OP NPC from Jeuno if I homepoint Jeuno.

Hmm, Saruta maw to windy OP npc is a pretty short walk. So I think you might be there in about 5 min if you retrace > campaign tele > maw > port, maybe I'm overly optimistic

It's better than my current solution, which is Warp to Whitegate, crash because 700+ are in the zone, retry logging 5 times to get back in, Use Taru to get home, lol.

Having to carry around or get silvers is annoying too. I really want my +1 inventory slot.

You can do the Wildcats Quest in Jueno right now Kaeko (from your post above it seems you think there is no quest at the moment).

For mobs that grow resistance to stun(spell): Do JA stuns(xbash) contribute to the resistance, or are they separate?

Do enfeebling spells get an accuracy or potency bonus from day/weather?

i.e. should I be using dark obi for sleeps in dynamis?

this is probably treading into the "we don't know how to answer that" realm and i recognize that, but are there any examples of gear that is commonly selected over alternatives for that slot that include macc? i'm trying to examine options on a couple of slots (goliard clogs vs shadow clogs for string debuffs and shadow coat vs blm af+1 body for enfeebling magic) but i'm running into the usual wall of a total and utter lack of quantification of macc. even if i can't pin a number on it, is it possible to restrict the value of macc into a broad field of equivalence?

Really difficult, but as far as the options, I believe it's basically Shadow/Goliard vs. Dance/Sha'ir(not sure what Marduk feet are like off the top of my head).

In terms of skill vs. MAcc for normal magic I generally do believe that it follows a similar system to melee acc, 1 skill = .9 MAcc over 200 etc, but BRD is obviously a different story with CHR all up in the mix there. I personally would take Goliard/Shadow but I can't prove that's the best option.

Another option now (for BRD feet) is the Oracles Pigaches that have 5 wind skill. These are arguably better than Goliard if you don't "need" the CHR. Shadow Clogs are pretty much Goliard+1, but again if you don't "need" the CHR, then the skill seems to be a better option. (Not to mention the fact the pigaches have 25 MP so you can idle in them or lose less MP in your debuffing macros.)

As to the "needed" CHR for debuffs, that's a whole separate debate, but the rule of thumb I use is to take your total skill (Singing + Wind-or-String) and divide by four. That number is what I consider to start becoming diminishing returns on adding CHR. For a no-merit 75, that puts the CHR around 110. For a merited and well-geared BRD, it's above the 130 mark.

yeah. for the feet, i'd pretty much settled on the oracles for that as the best wind choice but i wanted some evidence to back it up. i figure it's either wind torque+shadow or piper's+oracle's if you're comparing the footwear options. former gives 7 skill, 5 chr, 2 macc while latter gives 10 skill, 5 chr and 0 macc. you then compare 3 skill to 2 macc which starts to get into the questionable realm. i'm not sure why i typed goli clogs up above as shadow is strictly superior to goli on relevant stats. i was actually trying to get a feel for the exact comparison i made above: shadow clogs vs oracle feet and how they stack up against each other, but i got stopped and started so many times typing it, i mangled it bad.

Yeah I've waffled all over the place on what I actually use, I always use Oracle's in buffing obviously but I've flopped back to Goliard Clogs for debuffs. The MP loss isn't really a factor for me at the moment since my Minstrel's latent force macros don't currently including any Zenith pieces so I lose 130ish MP just doing that already. I never put actual math to it like you did, but what you said does sound reasonable, 110ish in general was where I felt it was a good time to stop on CHR and do more skill, but usually I just take whichever gets the biggest # of either.

In completely eyeballed anectdotal evidence I personally have had more luck switching to more MAcc over CHR/skill, but I don't really go BRD to anything that's that difficult to land Elegy on anyways so it's not like I have a good bar to measure against.

What's the lowest amount of people Jailer of Hope would take? And can NIN/DRK or /RDM tank it?
