No way, how can you not like the beret? I guess you're a taru though so it doesn't look as awesome![]()

I'm a hume and I think it's a fashion disaster. It was up on AH less than an hour after I got AF2 hat way back when.Originally Posted by Rocl

I <3 my Elite Beret +1, it took ages to hassle Aurik enough for him to sign one for me.
Since I'm assuming you are talking about the conquest ammo like PPA.. there really is no need for "/equip ammo" to de-equip your ammo. I'd set it up like this:Originally Posted by zagex
Macro1:
/equip ammo "Patriarch Protector's Arrow"
/echo **PPA Equipped**
Macro2:
/equip ammo "DD Arrow"
/echo **DD Arrow equipped. Double check equip screen**
There is no reason to need to have a safety in your macros. If you are that worried about it, change back to DD ammo manually.
BUT, if you need the safety net.. hit the macro that equips the conquest ammo, then hit this next macro:
Unlimited + WS +Ammo De-Equip
/recast "Unlimited Shot"
/ja "Unlimited Shot" <stpc>
/wait 1
/ws "Whatever" <t>
/wait 1
/equip ammo
What will happen when you hit the macro: You'll see Unlimited Shot's recast. If it's up, push enter. That will activated unlimited shot, do your WS, then unequip your ammo.
Personally I'd rather equip my ammo with 2 different macros, while checking if CP item is still there, instead of relying on a macro to unequip it for me.![]()
that is squeenix ingame macros and you won't need a full 1s wait. (although you might need a line of anything in between, /echo "Silver Bullets" would do it.)Originally Posted by zagex
eldelphia: the first line (/equip ammo {blank}) is telling the game to empty the slot. the second line equips the ammo you want to use (as normal)
in the event that you have no ammo of the new kind, the game won't change out whatever is in the slot, so if all one does is the usual second line, your next shot is with whatever ammo you had before. by adding the first line, you -force empty- the slot so if you fail to equip new ammo you have nothing in the slot to shoot off.
make more sense?
and to the player suggesting manually checking the slot: that's the point of using safeties is so you don't lose the time of having to manually look every time your ammo switches.
edit: and it'll save you macro count in the long run, if one cares about that anymore (no need for 'extra' ammo macros just for stuff you'll only use in conjunction with a JA.)

So my question I guess is which would be more effective for enfeebles? AF hat takes care of the nuking side of things. Or is this one of those "it's so close it doesn't even really matter and you won't see a blatantly obvious difference"?

Then I'm guessing the choices are between Elite Beret and Nashira Turban?Originally Posted by Epical
The other useful mage stats on the Turban make this an easy choice. Enmity Down -5, Spell Interruption -10%, and most importantly, Haste +2% for recasts, make it better in pretty much every way than the Elite Beret.
Also, the new theory being tossed around concerning magic accuracy obtained from a particular magic skill is that its very similar to melee skills: +1 Magic Accuracy for every point of skill up to 200, and + 0.9 Magic Accuracy for every point thereafter. This would mean that Elite Beret is giving you +3.6 Accuracy versus the Turban's direct increase of +5. My own experience, coupled with SE's inherent laziness, leads me to believe that this theory is true.
PS: Yes this does mean that some pieces of Wise Gear might actually be considered "good". Oh me, oh my.
PPS: That doesn't mean its okay to wear a Chasuble.
You can get behind gate 2, the stairs on the west side are not destroyed so you can easily run around the gate like you can with gate 3.
Would Ninjutsu damage spamming be useful in 60 cap fights?
This is true, got O2W every day for a week solo using the past.Originally Posted by Septimus

Yes to Nashira. Used that 'til I got Duelist's. I still drag the turban around for drain/aspir if I have the inventory space. Of course, in my experience the best head equip for landing Silence on Sky gods has 5 Charisma and 5 Singing skill. 330+ Enfeebling skill and I still only get enfeebling magic to stick as BRD/WHM.Originally Posted by Jeryhn

I don't seem to remember, is it just a delay -%? Magical Haste or EQ haste?
I'd assume delay -% because, afaik, it doesn't affect spells. Unless SE made it magical/eq with the "don't lower spellcast" additional.Originally Posted by Zarath
That came out sounding really dumb. I blame it on the fact that it is almost 7am... going to bed z.z
The next question would be.. if it is purely delay-%, does it affect TP/hit?
iirc, it was determined it was applied directly to the base delay of the weapon. there was a lot of excitement when it first came out b/c chopper drks and apoc drks looked like they might be able to increase their damage output by an obscene degree by increasing their delay reduction from 93.3 to 98.3 or by roughly 75%. alas, this was not the case, but it was exciting salivating over the possibility at the time. as for its impact on TP, that i don't remember as TP wasn't really relevant to the se zerg setup. no matter what you do, you'll have 300% before you run out of 100 gaxes.Originally Posted by Zarath
Combat merits...
Evasion or Parrying worth doing for NIN? Not HNM tanking, just general solo, meripo, n' small man stuff like Nyzul/Limbus.
Related...with GAxe popularity, is it worth meriting more, or do 2h changes + A+ rating make it somewhat moot for meriting and the like? I was leaning more towards meriting Sword and Axe as I can pre-merit them and they cross over to more jobs. Split would depend on whether I merit a defensive skill as well.
Currently have 8x Katana and like one upgrade in Axe, Sword, Evasion from way back.
