Honestly, NIN/DRK PLD/NIN or RDM/NIN go.. elegy sticks fine if you have a half decent BRD and it's attack speed is nothing special. The only damage you really take is from WS and you have plenty of time to spam hate tools straight tanking it. I'm sure a WAR/BST could manage to kite it, it's just inefficient. It does not cast -4 spells iirc, just -3 but they're near instant casts so that's 600ish damage each you'll take on war/bst.

Seriously though, he's really easy to kite and I don't lose hate on him unless some BLM just goes nuts near the end, of course then AG will run over and Rail Cannon, kill the BLM, and come back for me.

Anybody point me to a EVA vs. EVA Skill thread? If there isn't one, then doesn't anybody have any real idea what the difference is? I just wonder the importance of buying Boxer's mantle for my when I never plan on leveling PLD or MNK and my parrying is like 120. If there isn't really any upgrade for me between Boxer's vs. Corse Cape, then I may just save the money.

While Sirvente isn't the best of songs, it definitely has some uses.

Like if you still kite Kirin (lul, we do during his summoning phase, fail I know), or Nyzul. In Nyzul, we'd bring a nin tank, and with Sirvente, he could actually keep hate!

Besides that though, its uses are extremely limited.

I see a lot of RNGs rocking the Scout's Braccae. Is there any reason why Dusk(+1) Legs wouldn't be a better option? I know AF2 Legs have Enmity -2, but that's not a whole lot unless you're stacking it with other gear.

I only ask because I really don't have the time to do Dynamis anymore, so I'm wondering if I'll be ok crafting myself some Dusk Trousers +1.

Is it the "AF2 is free." card?

Free is part of it, for me it's primarily the movement down. Insert obligatory "but you can make a macro to take it on and off!", this is true but it's annoying. I also have Scout's Braccae +1, so RACC -1, Enmity +3, no movement down wins imo.

What is the .dat for the JP elemental icons under the compass?
I think the NA .dat is 13, but im not sure what the JP one is.

Edit: Hmm nvm, it seems it's ROM/0/1.dat for the JP and 51.dat (or 111) for the NA, but they both have many files within the one.. hmm how to swap just those few..

Ok guys I'm new to the forum but I'm pretty decent with Math... This one is about thief... Obviously nothing will out damage or dps Mandau or Bartedeau on main hand for dagger using a thief... So here is my question.

Assuming thief has identical setup for haste, tp, attack, str, dex, agi (all the setups for WS, TP, etc.) with the exact same merits (assuming 8/8 dagger and all the thf necessities like full Triple Attack, Assassin's Charge, etc.)

Which dagger will net over all more damage and not just on DPS but Weapon skill damage... Perseus's Harpe or Blau Dolch?

Sorry for making it so long but just to get it in there... Blau is dmg 26 and latent 33 delay 176 with hidden latent of +16 atk +5 acc only when TP is less than 100% and on WS while the DPS is 8.76 and 11.12 on latent... Perseus's Harpe is dmg 37 delay 210 but constant (at all times no latent) DPS of 10.57...

Any good tests to end this argument I have with my good friend who is also a 75 thf would be greatly appreciated. (In my humble opinion P.Harpe > Blau on main hand)

Speedburn situation like merits? I would anticipate Blau/Sirocco to outdamage Perseus/Blau.

More serious endgame enemy situation? I would anticipate Perseus/Blau to outdamage Blau/Sirocco.

In a speedburn situation, a huge proportion of your damage comes from melee on /nin (about 60-70% of total damage) and this comes from poking the enemy as fast as you can. 16atk doesn't hurt on a low-attack DD either. P Harpe/Blau will likely do more overall WS damage but since the main part of it comes from melee DoT, I'd still expect Blau/SK to win. On endgame fights, the ratio reverses however so I would expect P Harpe/Blau to take over.

I talk about gear with my friend all the time. He seems to think that the StoreTP from Chiv. Chain might help me more than the 5 acc from PCC. I know thats not the case but I was wondering assuming Senj/Perdu, Rajas, Brutal, Chiv, and /war how much store TP would I need to make it matter?

Two BLU questions, both concerning multihit spells.

1. If you are /nin and using Dual Wield, do you get an extra hit on a spell much like on a WS? (eg Bludgeon 3 hit becomes Bludgeon 4 hit)?

2. Is the probability of landing all hits as simple as

Acc%^(Number of hits)

much like WS? Or different for whatever reason?

No, no extra hits on spells from two swords.

And there's an acc bonus of about ~35 if memory serves, based on VZX and Delekii's testing. Cruise the Blue Mage: Job Findings thread sometime, it's in there, as well as all sorts of other juicy nuggets. =)
