i believe curing undead was supposed to be a good way to skill healing magic if you're gimp based on what i was told. i've never tried it out, but i would strongly believe that healing magic skill functions as elemental skill does for ele nukes. does not increase damage, just accuracy. i'm fairly sure that mnd was shown to affect it once, but don't quote me on that at all.

Curious on <stpt> and <stal>...I normally use <st> for all my cures/party buffs/etc...do these basically just take the place of <st> for something like that? What's the real difference between them? And will <stal> allow me to target both party and alliance members, or just the members of the other two parties?

<st> <stpc> <stnpc> select from targets in the main window, <stpt> <stal> select from the party list only, so you can select party members who aren't targetable.

this may be too obvious to post here, and i'm sorry if it is, but if you were trying to build a gearset for whm/nin to let them survive as much punishment as possible when shadows were down what are the key pieces of gear you'd want? obviously dring isn't gonna be in your average whm's arsenal so i'm hoping to keep this in the "sane" realm but beyond obvious answers like umbra cape and medicine earring for oshit situations, what options jump out in your mind?

For the accessory slots there's a lot of magic reduction available, Merman's Earrings/Rings etc, as well as Herexei Cape. Goliard trews are -3% Phsyical as well.

Whats the repop timer on Eastern Shadow after maintainence?

Pretty much, he can pop at any time after a maintenance. After the maintenance on the 9th, he popped after I killed the PH when I logged in right after the servers go live. Friend logged out in Fei'yin last night and logged in after the maintenance today and it took 5 hours for Eastern Shadow to pop.

Arhats+1/Ritter/Bushi/Brutal
Arhats+1/Usukane/Rajas/Jelly
Boxers/Warwolf/Hydra cuisses/Askar feet

I am planning to get darksteel +1 mittens to replace usu asap.

The counter rate only works with seigan/te. Most of the time when you have an oh shit gear set up, its for when you don't have a shadow/anticipate to take the hit, so wearing the pants in that situation would be kind of pointless. Kinda jealous of his hydra pants to be honest. ; ;

As far as keeping your six hit with oh shit gear, I don't think you could get enough store tp in the slots that you have available to maintain it. The only spots you have that you could swap out would be ear 1 (bushi) and ammo. Store TP tathlum and atilla's earring won't be enough store tp to get 6 hits though. If you are concerned about keeping your 6 hit with that gear, you'd have to use a food with store tp on it like carbonara or arribato. Natural store tp trait, Full store tp merits, rajas and carbonara is enough to full time a 6 hit set up regardless of other gear, I think, but I don't have time to do the math right now.

And yeah, getting hit will help you gain tp, but it won't guarantee that you get tp in 6 hits.
