How hard is it to fish up the Hydrogauge for the first COR AF quest? I have level 5 Fishing and was using a Halycon rod and little worms. I assumed you don't need any fishing skill (wiki confirmed) but I went through 2 stacks of worms off the pier in Whitegate and never got my gauge. Am I doing it wrong? Is there some special message I will see so I know it's the gauge and not a stupid fish?

Your combo is fine. Either just unlucky o you forgot to flag the quest in advance.

I definitely have the quest flagged as it was a very painful run from the staging point to Arrapago for the CS. So my luck just sucks.

Not sure how much they go for, but the VTish beastman in the Shadowreign strongholds(the ones you farm for pellets to pop the V.Mufflers/Sothic Rope NMs) have Platinum coins.

IIRC after the second gate if you start moving north towards the mire Rams exit you'll come across one near the water and one in the cave/tunnel near the zone.

Is there a quick way to restore people to normal, though? Also, is it still possible to target them, just in case?

Late reply but yes they are targettable, unfortunately, the only fast way to restore people would be to change the race, meaning everyone would be, for example, a Tarutaru. The slow method is to close GearMod, once the person changes gear (blinks) they'll return to normal.

So recently I dinged COR75 and I've pretty much accepted that this is gonna be my only job I come as to events(unless I level bard >_>). I've always liked being a DD and I know it can be done on Corsair to some degree, so here are my questions.

For things that I can shoot at while using Quick Draw, what should I expect damage wise from shots and Slug Shots; and what mobs would this work on? For example, I think Tiamat would be outside the realm of reasonable for ranged attacking, but stuff like Odin perhaps?

And for the things that I can only Quick Draw, what kind of damage do you Corsair's put out? I hear ~350 is pretty good.

I don't do a lot of HNMs, but on Ouryu a week or so ago I was doing consistent 350-430 Ice Shots depending on what Wizard's values I was getting and if I got Iceday procs. I usually end up RDM to big mobs, only one I've ever gotten to go COR to really is Ultima, and kinda hard to gauge damage on since he gets such a big cut...Slug was doing about 250, Detonator just barely less.

Against higher end mobs you need a pretty significant RAtk boost to put out good numbers, if you're in a DD party and can get the benefit of DD buffs they can go a long way, I know Kylen put up 1k on Kirin before...but I'd say that's a bit of an aberration and wouldn't expect to be put in a situation where you could see those sort of numbers that often.

What are the best means to reducing lag? I tank a whole lot more often these days, and I don't always have the most optimum conditions. Game settings? PC settings? Hell, isn't there a program that can visually remove all of the mobs around you? Any suggestions are welcomed and appriciated.

Is it possible to trade the Garnet to the headstone in Ifrit's Cauldron after you have completed the Zilart Missions without respawning the Opo-Opo NMs? I want to get a necklace, but want to be prepared if I will have to fight the NMs again.
